Grounding the m-switch?
« on: November 28, 2019, 10:22:50 pm »
Wondering if grounding to the bars works, allowing a single wire as advertised by Motogadget, or is it better to run a dedicated earth wire for each button?

Thanks

It all depends on what material your bars are, whether your bars are mounted in a painted top clamp, and whether your frame has a clean path to the battery NEG post.

Personally, I bring all my switch grounds back to the backbone under the tank, and use a rivet nut and a stainless screw to terminate there. I use 24AWG wire for the mSwitches as they are only acting as grounds and don't see current run them.
