4 into 4 341 exhaust from David Silver Spares. Discontinued?

Just curious, did DSS stop making the 341 4 into 4 exhaust? They have the 300s on their website, but no longer list the 341s

The 341 pipes were made in Japan, all the pipes were sold so no one has them.

Well that would explain it. Feel fortunate I bought a used set of DSS 341s a few years ago. Still need heat shields. Any suggestions where to get them?

Where are the 300s  and the heat shields made?

They run out of stock from time to time. Why don't you email them and ask when they will have more.

They rusted through on the bottom of the 3 or 4 exhaust after about 3 years. Bike is always garaged and ridden sparingly. Paid about $1500 AUD for them too.

So no more expensive 4/4 exhausts for this little black duck! Delkevic all the way now!

Well that just sucks to hear. I wonder why they rusted out so quickly? Anyone else have this issue?

To me there has to be a reason they still sell the 300s and not the 341s. Their website only has a few factory second 341s.  I bought this set off a gentleman 2 years ago who had 341s on a K0. He wanted the appropriate 300s on his 1970 and was swapping them out.

I do have a set. NOS Honda, not repros. Include NOS heat shields. $2,400.- plus an exorbitant amount for shipping unless you want to pick them up in Cleveland, Ohio

Did you treated them with oil inside before use?

I oiled mine 4-4 no numbers from Yamiya. Motor oil mixed with naphta, around 1 dec in each pipe and let it flow around inside while I leaned the pipe in all angles to cover the inside.

Pipes will hopefully not rust.
Bad that they are not treated from the beginning.

Even car std exhaust pipes produced the last + 20 years will not rust thru that quick as your pipes and as they did before rhe 90"s.

Disco's comment got me thinking about a way to coat the inside of the pipes to protect them from water condensing on the inside. Mine arent new, but PO only ran them for about 150 miles. Curious, what does Naptha do?

 Naptha is a thinner that can be used in paint and Honda pipes I guess and it dries quickly.

 I've coated 3 sets of no number pipes on the inside with Eastwood inside the exhaust paint. It comes with an 18" hose and a spray nozzle on the end. I remove the baffles and tape the ends and drain holes as I go to keep the paint inside, roll them all around to coat them more thoroughly and try to not pour paint on my shoe like I did on the first one. When it sets I clean off any excess, cure the paint with a heat gun blowing through the pipes and lastly re-open the drain holes.

Around 1/4- 1/3 of naphta in the oil, you'll see when oil is thin enough.

 My hope is it keeps the rust away longer and also protects the chrome from turning blue in case of a lean carb. I'd guess it must be done when new, some guys run a dab of 2 stroke oil too, a smoker's exhaust hardly ever rusts out.

No I didn’t coat the pipes in any way. I just installed them.

I had someone else say that I should have coated the inside with canola oil and let it burn off and ‘season’ the metal.

I have a squirt type oil can and put 2 to 3 squirts of 30 weight motor oil in the end of each pipe after rides or starting. Not sure how much it helps but I figure it can't hurt.

Ride the bike to full engine temperature before you put it away. Takes more than just a few miles to remove condensation, get it hot and dry it out. I've never had a HM300 or 341 system rust out in 45 years of riding 750's. Both of my K1 300's are solid still. Just a thought ...

Not to curse good fortune, I bought my 341s back in 2003 from an ebay seller.
For the first 10 winters the bike resided in my kitchen till riding season, no maintenance, just cleaned when necessary externally. since then, the exhaust gets removed every winter and stored indoors in very low humidity and are thoroughly degreased, wiped down, and cleaned externally before dry storage. I use wd40 to get the chain lube off. Pipes are the "paragraph" type. So far, no rust. I saw some for
sale from jtmarks77 on ebay earlier this year, but not cheap.

Yamiya No numbers are cheap compared to NOS 341. Do not mention HM300!!

Better sound and flow with No numbers thar are HM300 replicas.
Need different jetting.

My K6 had main 105, needles middle with 341 and stock air filter early 80's.

My K2 assembled this year with Yamiya pipes got my old K6 carbs. Now main 115, needles 1 step richer, 4:th notch from top.

 Those DSS repops were a smokin deal, I should have bought a set for my brothers one owner K4. I read why they are considered seconds. Most of the pipes I've put on need to be done like the directions to get them together.  Install loosely before tightening any bolts, the peg bolts may be difficult and require finessing, and line up the exhaust cross overs before tightening anything.
