Honda cb77 information needed
« on: December 01, 2019, 09:22:00 AM »
Hi,

I'm trying to find informations about the oil filter chain on the Honda cb77. As you may know, this chain is not available anywhere. So now,
I discuss with a chain company who are willing to make a batch but they need some informations first.
Any help would be appreciate.

Thanks
Bert

Bert, on the 305 forum, which has pretty much disintegrated,  there is member loud mouse who is very knowledgeable about both the 72's and 77's.

Member Old Scrambler here might know how to contact him or may be able to provide some info, but that's just a guess.

My foggy old man memory seems to remember that chain real being close to the old ohc 90's  cam chain of that era. Have you checked those out?

I was thinking the chain type but cut down to length. Plus going from memory on my CL72.

Good luck on the hunt.

For all who don't know and might need info or whatever, on the old Honda 250 & 305 motorcycles, the 305 Forum has been saved and is getting back in  shape and currently safely usable. Just letting you all know.

Check it out. Seeing is believing. I saw the forum being loaded up with the garbage, but got off onto other things & yesterday, I decided to see what it was like over there now, IF it was still there. And I was relieved.

Good to hear. It was useful once - I have a 67 - but descended into spam hell and I haven't been back for a long time. Will check it out again.

I don't need one anymore. I bought a kit from Cappellini. But thanks anyway.

Yeah, it's still there & steps being  taken, to get everything back in shape. Made pretty good efforts there. Got a '66 CB77 myself & a basket case '63 CL72. Still not much activity there. Just saying. At least past info, that might help some, is there.
I am thinking about reaching out to some of the members, to see if they even realize that Michael Stoic has been working on it.

When I went back over there, a few days ago, I got on, without a problem, then a couple of days later (or so), I couldn't get on. And I ended up going though a password change and got back on, without a problem, might give that a try?
