W.W.1 Motorcycle Collection

If anyone is interested, I’m helping and old friend to start selling his First World War Collection of cars, trucks, trailers and Motorcycles. The first listing went on EBay today. Search 1917 Harley Davidson Model J. He has about 20 similar motorcycles, including Triumph, BSA, Excelsior, NSU, Cleveland, Douglas etc...... there are also two Model T Ford ambulances, Dodge staff cars, Reo Trucks, Tool Trailers, Cook Wagons and more. If you have a specific interest, get in touch! This is a 16-24 month project!

We’ve been friends for over 50 years. He started collecting these machines when they were worth almost nothing...... My favourite is a 1915 Triumph Model H, totally original, unrestored. We run it regularly and it is so much fun to ride!

Two Dodge Staff Cars, REO trucks, cook wagons, tool trailers, uniforms, rifles and hand guns.....
The list is endless. I told the owner, “Two years to sell it all”.

Does the Wanderer have a front and rear stand? The front fender brace looks like it has the same attachment to hold it in place as the rear stand.

Cool bikes by the way.

Yes to the front stand question. The BSA and all the Douglas have them too. None of the bikes from this early era had side stands!

Most German bikes had front stands, I think even Indians sold there around 1930 still did.

Sold the 1915 Triumph Model H 500 and the 1917 Excelsior (USA) 998cc V Twin today.......

The Excelsior went to Quebec on Saturday. Cool new owner, he and his Dad have a restoration shop and a lovely collection of 100+ year old bikes. And they ride them! His Dad really wanted an Excelsior. Son hopes to come back for the 1917 Triumph Model H soon!
