Help removing speedo bulb cb350f
« on: December 09, 2019, 05:38:21 PM »
CB350F I've read on here that the bulb should just pull out from the back, but I can't get mine to do that. Is that the correct way to remove it or is there another way? I tried unbolting the whole speedometer but the bolt won't turn more than a quarter turn. An suggestions? Thanks!

The rubber case fits like a grommet in the instrument hole so pulling, turning, and tilting it should work it out. Some lube (soapy water?) applied around the edge will help but just a drop or two, you don't want it running inside the case. If it doesn't turn then the rubber is stuck to the case, reasonable force will break it free.

also it will be a lot easier with the gauge off the bike, which is just two 10mm nuts. not sure which nut you are not able to turn.

Whenever I work with any of this old rubber on bikes I find some heat from a heat gun/hair dryer makes the old rubber more pliable and easie to work with and hopefully less chance of damage. A little squirt of glass cleaner will even work as a lube.
