I thought i would share some of my mistakes. Earlier this season i tried to kickstart my cb500 that i restored two years ago and the kick stopped to engage, no resistance. I opened the sump too check how it looked: suprise!
The clip holding it together wasnt up for the task. Luckily enough everything did just drop into the pan. I was able to put it all back together from underneath the sump with a new clip. I did not pull the clutch cover but might be easier to remove the spring there. In the last picture you can see the diffrences between new clips and various used clips. Im not sure if its common practice to replace all of these clips once you remove them but i did not. I have now gotten myself assortment of clips and will be sure to check that they are up to the task.
