Had an idea of a ride with the local southeast to go to Sturgis. Its in August.  Hadn't mentioned to anyone yet. Should be thrifty and lean by then here!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Lets hope that this whole Corona Virus thing is done and dusted by then mate, or else you'll have to settle for re-runs of last years event on Youtube! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Is motorcycling banned in QLD Dave? I read last night that it's still legit in all states except QLD and NSW, which might still be OK, but the author hadn't had a reply back from the RTA/DMV from those two states? If I want to go for a ride on the weekend I'll have to take my jump starter pack over to the storage facility and fire up the VFR or Triumph Rocket III, or Yamaha FJR1300, or BMW K100RS. I'm not sure if self storage places are "essential services" so my only (legally) rideable bikes might be locked up, and locked down. Bugger........... ;D

Beautiful day here in central Ohio.  Down and back to Hocking Hills State Park.  Just a bit less than 200 miles total.  The roads around the park are so curvy, my cheeks are hurting from too much smiling.   ;)  Got a little better than 45 mpg.

Hey Dennis, it looks like a great area for motorcycling. Tried to get GZ to the Ohio hills on one of his visits. Can you tell or post your route?

Be careful out there guys, if you come off and have to be taken to hospital, you might end up with something worse than road rash.

Hi Kevin, I'm based in the Urbana area so I just take Ohio State Route 56 South.

Route 56 is good pavement and just curvy enough to hold your attention.  It really starts getting good though after you pass through Laurelville. When you get to Hocking Hills State Park you have two choices off of route 56.  Either State Route 374, or State Route 664, both are highly recommended.  Actually once you are this far south in Ohio, any of the 3 digit state routes are excellent.
State Route 374

State Route 664

Enjoy - Dennis

Thanks Dennis. My very first overnight CB trip was to my aunt & uncles place in WCH Fayette county, summer 1970, on my shiny new candy blue green K0. On other trips I went on from there down 35 to family in WV,  then Blue Ridge, Smokies, all a long time ago. I have never wandered onto the roads you have mapped here but maybe since my son is riding and looking to travel, they might be in my near future.

California has gotten nuts with their lockdown. 3 deputies went out off the coast and arrested a lone kayaker who was out for some exercise and put him in jail. Lady who want out for drive and stopped by her storage unit ended up arrested for joy riding...

Other states have had similar draconian measures taken. Those are two of the ones I have heard about.  Welcome to the police state.

We're allowed to exercise here, but of course teenagers are taking advantage of it and all meeting up in public parks to "exercise", and not keeping their "social distances". Apparently motorcycling is considered exercise, so I will take advantage of it, but I'll keep to back roads away from the cops, which I prefer, anyway. I don't have a problem with the lockdown laws, we've got relatively few CV cases here in my state (and in Oz, in general) so as long as people continue to do the right thing, this situation should be over sooner, rather than later. ;D

Just where in California did these events agilely happen, David? My mom and two sisters live in Santa Maria, in Northern Santa Barbara County, and are not under "lock down". A third sister lives in Nipomo, which is just over the county line in SLO county, where they are under more stringent restrictions.

Frank....... got in a 20/20 yesterday. Needed some stuff at Canadian Tire. They are closed but still filling “phone in” orders (their on line shopping failed a few days ago, too much demand!). They brought my order out (bar oil and some other small stuff) and dropped it in the KLR’s bag. Never had to touch it! Cool, clear afternoon, so I wasted an hour on the way home. Saw one other bike, and very little traffic. Roads still very dirty, but it was sweet!

I’ve done 4 so far, 2 on the klr and 2 on the wing. Looks like fairly crappy weather for the next while, so when it finally clears up the 750’s will come out of the basement and I can do some serious mileage!

ya need a tt600,they melt snow in their path, flatten mountains and pretty big hills, smooth gullys over and make slippery red clay easily ridable, rough wash board roads become like billiard tables.

Well, was a beautiful day in Michigan today...but I did not do the 100 miles.  I only did about 25...but it was on a crf450 riding tight twisty single track trails through a beautiful forest.  My ass is beat.  I crashed some lol...but it was fun.  Sorry no pics.  I spent all my off bike time trying to catch enough breath to keep up with my more experienced buddy.
If it works good, it looks good...

A few more pics.  4 of us went, one was my son on his Interceptor. And a V-Strom and a Shadow.
We split up in Oliver BC, 2 went over the mountain, not a straight line and 10.7 miles of dirt road. My son and his buddy took the longer way, beat us by 10 minutes.
I hit something yellow,  or it hit me, left a mark on my forehead.

The red line on the map is the Canada USA border , Oliver is on Hwy 97 . The map is accurate except for that straight line between Oliver and Cawston.
