I Think the first person to click off their 20/20 Rides has to drink a nice bottle of Moegen David 20 -20... :o

Hard to say how many people I saw puke up Mad Dog 20-20 back in the high school and college days, but it must be in the dozens.  One memorable time also involved a mass quantity of cotton candy washed down with the stuff.  Then there was the big Viking looking dude that projectile vomited what looked to be a gallon of pure Mad Dog onto people in the seats below him during an alumni game at Husky stadium.  I was off to the side a bit and looked up just in time to see the sun shine through a stream of everyone's favorite fortified wine.  It was kind of beautiful if you like purple.   I can't smell wine without it reminding me of MD, which is why I can't stand wine..

Man Greg , that is funny had me laughing...
Reminds me we had a similar Muscatel wine made here locally. Got a bootlegger to get me some.. me and younger brother snuck out one night drank a bunch.. cops caught us and took us home.. early Sunday morning.. my parents were not happy , wurst was  US being really gooned on cheap wine..
My Dad had a great punishment, made us go to church, a few hours later... with a wicked pounding Rotgut hangover my 15 year old body was not ready for.. .. to this day I never liked that again..
A year later I graduated to Double Jack and Berry Jack, another fine 20 percent Rotgut offering from Calona Wines..

I did 120 miles yesterday from seattle to snoqualmie pass. We were gona go through to the other side but when we got up there it dropped like 20* and started snowing/hailing. And we were only wearing summer clothes, so we turned back.

I was getting beat up pretty badly since this is highway where you go 80-90mph. How many windshields have I thrown out in the last couple years? And now I'm shopping for one and it turns out they're expensive.

I hate aftermarket fairings/screens on our old bikes, they make for some weird handling issues and instability in cross winds etc, plus they're mostly ugly. While I'm not a fan of modern bikes, I do appreciate their ability to do a lot of miles in comfort. I bought a 2000 model Yamaha FJR1300 in 2016 for 2 grand because it had 137,000 miles on the clock, and of course no-one wants to buy a bike with that sort of mileage.

Swamp Rat Saturday 14 Sep 2019 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I'm it's 3rd owner and the previous owner, who bought it with less than 10,000 miles on the odo was fastidious with recording all his maintenance and he was amazed that the engine has never been apart, not even for a clutch. It's now got 146,000 miles on it, and for long rides, it's fantastic, although it's a little uncomfortable in warm weather if you want to wear all your safety gear. In winter though, as long as you're moving, you don't even get wet. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well I'm happy to say that even though it was a miserable Autumn day today, I had a great ride. After losing 150 pounds over the last couple of years, I gave away all my 7XL wet weather clothing, so after getting soaked on my VFR750 ride last weekend, I went shopping on the internet, and was happy that by yesterday I had a new Dri Rider Jacket and pants to wear today, and I can report that even after being pissed on, on my way back, I was toasty warm and dry for my Mothers Day 100 miler. I would have liked to take the VFR750 out today as it's new battery has finally arrived, but the self storage place where I keep it were only open from 10am to 2pm, which was no good for me, so I took my trusty Sportster again.

Mothers Day ride 10 May 2020 2 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I chose a route I haven't travelled in probably 5 or 6 years, basically because I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Because we're still under lockdown I prefer to stay off main roads lest I get pulled up by the cops and have to explain why I'm 50 miles from home, so cruising through little towns off the main routes was nice, and hopefully next time all the stores will be back open for business, as I would have enjoyed a hot drink and something to eat, but all those little local bakeries and cafes are closed right now, which must be really hard for the folks who rely on passing custom to keep their businesses going.

There was a cheesey country and western song here back in the old days that lamented that "There's nothing so lonesome, morbid or drear. Than to stand at the bar of a pub with no beer". Well a pub with the doors and windows boarded up because of the Corona Virus has got to be up there too, I'm thinking, the old Romsey Hotel looked positively miserable today.

Anyhoo, I had a great ride, and the Sportster continues to amaze me with it's 60(+) MPG (Imperial Gallons = 4.5 litres) fuel economy, which is handy with only a 12 litre fuel tank, fuel economy is something I think about a lot. All in all, a great day. ;D

We went out and found a nice campsite near the highway. Really nice weather in Washington this weekend. I even got a sunburn in the shape of my gloves. I think this means I have 5 rides.

 Ride #5 today..180 miles.
Went with my son and daughter,  twins, she drove.
Went Kelowna to Falkland then straight up to Chase , then over almost to Salmon Arm , then below the Hwy 1 symbol, we went straight down south thru Salmon Valley , joining 97 just to right if 97 symbol, then back home thru Vernon, south to Kelowna.  The lake at Tappen is the same lake as at Salmon Arm, has a few arms and around 880 miles of shoreline.

The weather this week has been cold and miserable as we head into winter, but the sun came out yesterday, and I prayed that it would continue into the weekend. The weather gods were good to me again today, it was sunny but cold, but now that I've got some decent cold/wet weather gear, cold doesn't matter so much. I took my new battery and 10 litres of fresh gas over to the self storage place, along with my 15" adjustable wrench, so I could straighten my bent brake pedal from when I dropped the bike on it's side a couple of weeks ago, when I was pushing it home, due to the dead battery.

It only took a few minutes to swap out the battery, dump in the fuel, and straighten the brake lever (thank God it was steel and not alloy, or it probably would have snapped) and I was off on an adventure. The CV restrictions have been lifted, so of course there were cars choking all the main roads, but that's alright, I prefer to take the road less travelled. I took in several little towns, and the little Honda VFour ran like a swiss watch, but I had to keep my enthusiasm in check when I hit the rev limiter (11500 RPM) in third gear when I realised I was doing well over the "Ton".

I stopped for gas after only 60 miles, (the fuel consumption isn't great at warp speed) and realised how filthy the poor thing was, the last couple of rides in the rain had taken their toll.

Terry's VFR750 Saturday 16 May 2020 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

I decided to ride up to Hanging Rock, the site of the famous novel "Picnic at Hanging Rock", where a group of young schoolgirls disappeared in 1900, never to be seen again. Sadly it was closed, or I probably would have found them, chicks dig VFR's.

Terry's VFR750 Saturday 16 May 2020 1 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

On the way back I stopped at a deserted car wash and gave it a quick scrub, before heading off again.

Terry's VFR750 Saturday 16 May 2020 2 by Terry Prendergast, on Flickr

As comfy as it usually is, my back and right shoulder were killing me after only 130 miles. I had steroid injections into my lower spine back in March, and it worked great, but my shoulder has been bad for awhile, so I may have to ride my "cruiser" style bikes in this weather, and hopefully get out on the VFR and hopefully my RC51 SP1 in the warmer months again. Regardless, it was a great ride. ;D

Ride #1 I got my first decent ride in yesterday. Between the weather and virus/lockdowns, it's been tough. While the roads have less traffic, and that's nice, the places where you might stop for a break are all closed, not so good shorter term, likely for the better of all long term.
The dam breaches on the "Tit" were several counties to the north. I followed the Huron River for a while and its certainly over its banks, but not nearly over the road. Nankin Mills is near home, but Hines Drive was flooded, as it is for any significant rain.
So even though there is lots of very bad stuff going on around here, a ride on the CB is terrific.

I thought it was about time I joined in so yesterday morning I got the first 100 miler done.  Rode mostly west along Lake Ontario and then up and around the escarpment...all roads I had ridden before and nothing of real interest to take any photos.  To be honest I was happy just to ride the distance and not have to stop for a piss .  I will plan better for the next ride and take some good photos to post here.  This was on the RD250.

Thanks .  I got ride #2 done this afternoon.  Headed directly west and then up through Guelph and as far as Elora.  Stopped in Fergus for a quick photo with George Ferguson who settled there in 1874.  Then made a second stop in Guelph for a photo of this magnificent church.
Total ride:  114 miles.

Well I took my Triumph Rocket III out for it's first ride this year today, almost 10 times the capacity of Robbo's Yammy @ 2300cc and 350 Kg, but a wonderful mile eater idling along at 60 MPH @ 2000 RPM. I've owned this bike since I bought it from my brother (RIP) in 2009 and was thinking that I might need new tyres after 8000(+) miles, but when I stopped to fill it up after 80 miles i checked the pressures, and was ashamed to see that there was less than 20 psi in each. Not surprisingly, for the next 127 miles it felt much firmer when pushing thru fast sweepers.

Anyway, #8 for me I'm happy to say, had a great day and put a couple of tankfulls (and half a bottle of Seafoam) through it, and it ran like a Mack truck. I got my time and space a little askew so had to get back home before the self storage place where I keep it closed, so cruised home @ 100 MPH and just made it back in time before they locked the gates. I think I'll take the big blue Yamaha out next weekend. ;D
