how do you guys feel about a ride of 94.6 miles...

Jake, just do the best you can and share your adventure.
For myself I have switched up my rides a bit, to my own benefit, as the riding improves the further away I go from the Detroit metropolitan area. If  I see my trip odo at 45, I go further, try a new road, go somewhere I haven’t been in a while, knowing it is going to be better riding there than what I’m going back to.
I don’t view this endeavor as a competition, it is just sharing what we enjoy. I really enjoy reading stories from far and near: some places I have been, some I’ll make a point to go there, many I will never get to.
When I was younger I belonged to a trail riders club, and you earned a 100 mile patch if you completed a given dirt ride through the Michigan woods in a day. I earned several of those 100 miles patches and I still have them around here somewhere.
If we were flush with funds and talented artists we would be earning a Merit Badge or a patch or a pin:
 20 x 100 2020 SOHC4
In the meantime enjoy your rides.

Exactly the whole  point is to get out and ride,  and report your ride stories..
But if you are counting , it's 100 miles or more. .
 It's incentive,...not competition..

I know there are a few on here have far exceeded the 20 rides, but they are not on here bragging about it because it's not really a big deal , if you are riding weekly or daily..
It is a big deal to get our SOHC bikes out and use them ... and while that to some may remind them why they don't ride often, I hope there is more than that number saying... Hey, I remember how much FUN this was.... and still is..

I have done several 210km rides, almost daily during a few weeks in April- May. I was too busy thinking about carbs, enjoying legal speeds. No start-stop photos on speedo pedometer.
6000km in around 2 months.

Last ride would be fantastic on a bike, 350km away. Too much tent for bike though.

Look like a volcano from Särna camping.

Yep, getting out and riding (no matter what you're riding) is what our motorcycle infatuation is about, I'm not gonna choose one bike over another to make anyone but me happy, and posting here on this thread isn't about bragging, as Kevin said, it's about sharing your ride and encouraging the bench racers back out onto the road.

I'm locked down for another 3 weeks but  as soon as I'm allowed out on the road, I'll be out there enjoying my favourite roads, eating food that I don't have to cook myself, and maybe even stopping for a refreshing drink, or at least a decent cup of coffee along the way. In the meantime, I have almost all the parts I need to bolt my 1975 Kawasaki Z1-B hotrod together, so who knows? Next outing might be on a big angry Kow.......... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I'm sure we'll create a thread for kits adapting our bikes for us getting older.  Extra support wheels?

I kinda dig the Utility Sidecars, not all big enough to carry a passenger just some extra gear.

The more I look at that thing, the scale doesn't look right. I think it's either been photoshopped, or that's one big arsed mobility scooter. Fake news? ;D

Nice pics Frank. Hey I'm interested in your bike, that's an F2 engine in a K2(?) frame, was there a problem with chain alignment, and if so, how'd you fix it? I've got Spotty's K7 with a perfectly good engine that I've been thinking about shoving in my K2, the only concern I had was chain alignment? I had an F2 engine in my "Goldie" K2, but the guy who built it had used K2 gearbox components to ensure that everything lined up? ;D

I used mostly K1 to K6 parts including swingarm, sprocket carrier,  etc .
from front F2 motorwith original output shaft , with 530 sprocket fitted.
Carrier, I heated it up and wound the studs out around 10mm. , then used 4 spacers out of say  1 inch round, 10 mm long
Now sprocket is no longer centered on shoulder, I intend to machine shoulder and fit a sleeve.
Had to grind a hole in the swingarm. And use 1/4 spacer on axle, which now means you cant get a cotter pin into end of axle.....and  it became so hard getting thespacer in, i finally jacked the swingarm open another  1/4  inch.
of course no chain guard known to man, beast , or priest will now fit.

If you have cash..I did not.. I think an offset sprocket , reversed would  take care of it al,..

Yes Per, sidecars have been my thing for most of my motorcycling life.
I've always been a big fat bastard so they where a natural fit. A bit like my nickname. ;D
It's been many years since I have owned a road going version though.

;D Well, I managed to get in 4 of my rides in the last 10 days..
Was on night maneuvers last night..
My son, Vincent and I set out at 21 00 hours for a mOOnlight ride to Revelstoke BC.
Arrived at 23 58 , 120 miles ...spectacular moonlight reflecting off the lakes and showing off the mountains.
Set out around 1 00 hours heading back same way. I stopped at a lookout in Vernon at about 3 05, my son continued home.
I stayed at the viewpoint , enjoyed a beverage, watched the awesome moon, as clouds came and went past , light reflecting off Kalamaka Lake it was very cool.  Stayed any hour and a half till the eastern sky started to clear and light the sky. The viewpoint has a clear shot to a mountain range 40miles away so first light comes early. The second pic shows around 1/3 of how far up that valley the mountains are, will try to get a good pic of the view from lookout..
Also watched what I think was the comet rising slowly in the sky ..interesting. .
So 2 rides in 8 hours, total of 4 in 10 days.

Yes, I’m getting behinder. July 24th my last ride. Life gets in the way. But I am itching to go, and the CB is running well. I checked the Washtenaw County road commission projects map yesterday and neither of the projects blocking me are complete...... the Cavanaugh road bridge is out till mid September. But there are ways around, just not as nice. Got my new helmet and gloves ready for their first ride.

I'm really pissed off that we've just had our lockdown extended for yet another six weeks, so I won't be back on the road until mid September now, but once I'm free I'll be riding the wheels off whatever bike will take me where I want to go. I am a bit surprised that my American cousins haven't taken up the challenge though, 100 miles on any bike isn't a chore in summer? ;D

Terry, there are some that are doing it, but not documenting it. I have found this ledger useful, and Eric has noted based on my posts, that it’s time for my mid season oil change.
The virus is warming here as well, the Governess is tuning and tightening restrictions as necessary but non essential Honda rides are allowed. The beaches and the parties have been identified here as spreading spots, oh, and the Sturgis meet: 250,000 bikers off the hook is getting lots of negative press.
Sorry for your lockdown extension.

Thanks Kevin, I'm sure there are other members who are getting some rubber on the road, and I guess the Covid thing is making everyone nervous at the moment, even though motorcycle riding is the ultimate in social/physical distancing. One of my concerns earlier on was having a minor "off" and ending contracting CV up in a hospital, but I think the chances of that are pretty low now. If all goes well with the current lockdown the restrictions will be lifted just in time for some nice riding weather, and I have a very long ride planned, to make up for being locked down for so long. ;D
