I'm really pissed off that we've just had our lockdown extended for yet another six weeks, so I won't be back on the road until mid September now, but once I'm free I'll be riding the wheels off whatever bike will take me where I want to go. I am a bit surprised that my American cousins haven't taken up the challenge though, 100 miles on any bike isn't a chore in summer? ;D

When it is 105f out in the afternoon, riding AGATT becomes dangerous in my book.

Frank it doesn’t drop below 90 until midnight here in the desert. It is still 95f at 10pm on days like today.
90 actually isn’t so bad, just dries you out riding in the heat. Nighttime dangers of deer, javalina (wild pigs), and drunk drivers not withstanding.
I prefer to ride when I can see the sights, but riding anytime is better than not riding.

You can see quite a bit with the moon out, enough to turn your lights off.
Animals can be seen further and in brush when lights reflect in their  eyes. It a very cool feeling at times and a relief from the heat and traffic.... that's not so bad is it ?
 Just adapt..

Ride #10 131miles 48mpg 84F
I left home this morning about 915am and that’s the earliest out the door for me this year. It paid off quickly as there was quite a bit less traffic and the air was cooler and perfect for jacket wearing. My first stop was at the busy state boat launch on Portage lake in Washtenaw county. Many pontoon boats are in use here as the inland lakes are not so large that would require a deep V hull. The launch parking area was full so the gate was closed to any more boaters.
I went on by Hell, there was a fun run underway and many runners in Patterson Lake rd. The devil himself was standing by in Hell today, but I kept my distance from him as I don’t want any of what he is sharing. The sailplanes were out At Richmond field near Gregory but not yet airborne as the Sandhill soaring club was preparing for soaring on this gorgeous day.
My mid-ride stop was at McDs in Stockbridge. I’m wearing my new helmet and gloves today. The helmet is very quiet compared to the old one. The gloves are comfy, with the gel pad in the palm. The gloves are a little warmer as they have the least bit of liner. Afterwards on to the Waterloo farm museum Antique farm equipment show. The star of the show was the 39 Chevy truck, beautifully restored. Also present was the self contained mobile shop, containing drill press, lathe, table saw, grinder all powered by a small stationary engine. Rumely oil pull tractor, Deere stationary engines. Dang, I can’t get the videos to post here.
After leaving the show, I met a scooter on Seymour road, then a couple more. I could smell the Klotz. At the end of Seymour there was a swarm, 80? 100? scooters. I stumbled in to the Mid-Michigan scooter club Annual ride to the Big House in Ann Arbor. I weaved my way through the horde and went on ahead down Clear Lake road and then to Chelsea, Dexter. Plymouth and home.
All in all, a terrific ride and I’m halfway home to 20/100/2020.

Terry, you are not allowed for a solo ride, refueling as the only stop?

G'Day Per, nope, we're in stage 4 lockdown, so only 4 reasons to be out"

1. Work (must have a signed work permit stating location, start and finish times etc)
2. Shopping for groceries. Not allowed more than 5Km (3 miles) from home
3. Exercising. Not allowed more than 5Km (3 miles) from home
4. Care giving. Welfare checks on old/ill family members.

I'd love to be able to go for a ride Per, but I woulddn't bother starting my bike for a 3 mile ride.......  :'(
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

3 mile 10 times....

No mate, the cops will pull you over and ask what you’re doing, and if they’re not satisfied with your response they’ll issue you a $1600 ($1000 USD) fine. As much as I love riding my bikes, riding around the block for 4 hours @ 30 Mph To do another 100 miler doesn’t appeal, especially if I cop a fine for a grand on top.

No biggie though, if everyone does the right thing and the CV numbers are back down to zilch in 5 weeks time, I’ll have at least one new bike (my Kawasaki Z1-B) on the road to celebrate my return to riding. Should be fantastic! ;D

i was lucky enough to get out for a ride today, i've got a Get Out Of Fine Free letter from the doctor saying i'm needed for the care of my insane mother who lives about 15 miles away, wasn't exactly fun when i got there but being out for a ride on a lovely day was a good thing

only problem is, you feel quite vunerable cos theres no traffic to hide in so behaviour ( speed limits especially) is of the best variety, way too much chance of seeing cops
i blame Terry

Aug 9, 87 degF and Humid... 75 CB750F, 98.6 miles (just missed it, although my speedo reads slow...)

First real ride of the year, Jacket doesn't fit real well over the extra Covid belly...

Left the house, headed to meet up with a good friend of mine and his Vulcan 1500 at the gas station near the house.  Topped off and picked up a couple bottles of water and headed out.  Took the long way from south of Flint up to Montrose to a local park where we were meeting a handful of friends.  As we were pulling into the park, the shifter on the Vulcan decided that it was no longer willing to perform its task and broke, leaving him in first gear trying to figure out how he was going to get home.  Luckily one of the guys who lived really close to the park, had a welder. So a quick side trip and some parking lot wrenching and we were good to go. About that time, I got a text from my Daughter to pick her up from a friends house, she had her helmet (from the previous days drop off, going for cool dad status  ;D), so back into town to pick her up and then the rest of the way home.  All in all a good first official trip of the year, at least for me.  Probably would have been well over 100 if we didn't have the shifter issue, as we had to take the more direct route home due to the time lost fixing stuff...

I did one this weekend for about 135 miles. We decided to go to a lake since I've been really wanting to get a boat lately and thought watching other people owning boats would help somehow... On the way there we saw a couple that got in a crash, I don't know what happened but it was 2 adventure bikes that I think hit each other going through a bend and both of them went down. Luckily the lady getting carried away on the stretcher wasn't bleeding and was moving her hands and feet around for the emt's. My gf was pretty shaken up after that but luckily we were able to enjoy the rest of the day.

Beautiful day in central Ohio.  Got an early start,  255 miles mostly on curvy state routes.

Shot some video, but the camera didn't want to cooperate and there was way too much traffic.... vacation season right now.

The finishing touches are going on the new traffic circle at 7mile road and Pontiac Trail. I can get back to using my favorite road to get out of town soon.
I had a whole bunch of 8’s showing on the odo today, one of them almost blanked out.
I went around Jackson Prison, rode the length of Seymour rd (12mi) and had it all to myself. There was a moment or two when I felt like Michael Dunlop (at 60mph not 160) at IOM riding along the tree lined road with the sunshine in and out.   :)

Thanks Terry, but we have about 700 new infections per day for 10 million people, and no chokeholds on activity....yet.

The weather has been..... perfect.
The CB is ..... perfect.
The sweet corn is delicious and cherry pie is my favorite.
This is about as good as it gets here. :) :) :)

The summer is still here with good temperatures. 25-30*C.

No rides for me for a while, my house windows need maintenance which is tough when sun is burning 28*C in the shadow, the work I did in the sunshine.
Probably 2 months left of riding.
I look forward to dyno rides on both my bikes within a month.

Ha ha, 28 deg C is a lovely Spring day here in Oz Per, it hit 48 a few times that I can remember, and that wasn't fun at all. But then again, we don't get snow and ice like you guys do, so it all evens out.......... ;D

48C would not be fun.
I have been on vacations when the temp entered the +45C area. Greece and Spain, the latter +47 seen as outside temp of a car when driving in a small coast town at Costa del Sol.

On the beach most of the day under the parasol, jump into the sea direct when dried since last swim.
When taking a deep breath, it burned inside the loungs.
25-30C perfect summer temperatures. Working in direct sunshine not fun.

I’m making hay while the sun shines, a little late getting out but the temp and humidity have eased, so it’s down the road for me. The Washtenaw county road commission is busy. They have been repaving and their process leaves loose stones to slip and slide on, and to chip your paint. I have seen lots of these signs recently and the loose stones add? to the thrill of motorcycling.
At the airfield, a colorful Boeing/Stearman N2S-3 trainer was practicing takeoffs and landings.  7 cyl radial, 220 hp, 668ci. When they saw my bright orange shirt observing, they came to the north end of the field and posed for a photo. I have an mp4 video of the takeoff, but haven’t been able to post it, can anybody help?
