It's really odd because I just set the tension and lubed it before this trip. But now it is really saggy and dry. I'm thinking about just replacing it since I already have the spare DID chain.

I did 160 miles yesterday (on my Goldwing again) to meet member Pielz. He had some K7 parts that he wasn't using and was kind enough to give them to me for my K2 ratbike project. We had a good chat, then I returned home with a Jardine exhaust system strapped to the back seat and some other parts in the trunk.

My gf and I are trying to work our way up to longer days for a big trip we have planned later this month. So this weekend we chose a destination about 200 miles away and tried to do it in two 100 miles legs with only one stop in the middle. Those are both firsts for me.

Day 1 was about 200 miles,

Day 2 was about 120 miles,

Day 3 about 200 miles again,

and finally day 4 was only about 60 miles.

This was the first big ride into unknown territory for me and the 400. Usually I just stay in the puget sound/peninsula area. The 400 did great with no problems whatsoever. Except for the chain which stretched quite a bit over the course of the weekend. It sags now and I hope it can still be used.

Reading about "long trip" prep on here one thing I noted was to find the sweet spot or speed that the bike likes to ride at. Unfortunately on highway 90 (where we did most of the riding) you have no choice but to go 80-90mph the whole time. But the 400 was fine cruising 80. I only ever used 5th gear a few times going downhill, and never used 6th.

The ride up the coulee from Euphrata is a great ride. We did it 3 times this year. When you get to the dam go down the hill further and there is a really nice park on the right at the base of the dam with some shade trees, grass, a couple of tables and bathrooms.  We never ride I-90 and seldom if ever Hwy 2 because they are too busy, my favorite way over the mountains is Hwy 20, it's 158 miles from my house to Winthrop(add another 50 from your house) and 100 more to Wenatchee. This year we didn't do our big ride, we decided to do several smaller rides. We stay in Wenatchee and do day rides from there. From there you can go south on 97 past Rocky Reach dam and over to Euphrata to ride the coulee. Sometimes we just ride over Hwy 20 and down to Wenatchee, spend the night and come back the same way. It's that nice of a ride.

I ate lunch at that park! Haha. It was nice to have some shade to get out of the 100 degree weather.

Trip number 6:

I wanted to check out Raven Rocks Road, twenty years ago we looked at a house there  - I always loved the name ;D  The route took me by Mount Weather:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Weather_Emergency_Operations_Center

Stretched it to Winchester to buy Blondee apples for my wife and took 81 and 66 back home -did some serious speeding for a change.  Total 136 miles.

Ride #20 103 miles, cloudy, mist, 67f

Well, it certainly wasn’t the glorious sunshine summer day that I have become so used to. It started out cloudy, then I noticed the mist on my faceshield. I wiped that dry a few times but couldn’t keep it dry. My jeans were starting to get soaked, and so I decided it was time to turn back. I went to the south, away from the big rain, and that worked out OK, for a dry ride home.
The photo is from a different sunnier day.

Never dreamed I’d be first in, especially getting a six week late start due to CV. There’s others that have done it but not documented it. Terry was well on his way to be first in but got locked down. Jake, Kelly, and Ofreen have had grand rides, and I’m envious of all you mountain and canyon riders: Rockies, Appalachians, Alleghenies, Berkshires, Coastal range, Highlands, Hill Country, Ozarks, I dont know Europe or the Oz mountains. I’m still hoping to see a way to get to southern Ohio for a few days.
There’s 22 pages of fun here and more to come.

Well done Kevin, Covid-19 screwed me, but the fact that you did your 20 rides on a CB750 does make it even more special, so well done! Hopefully I'll get 6 more rides between now and the end of 2020, so I can achieve the objective. Well done again, you've got my respect. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks for all the accolades guys, but I feel like I have backed in weakly by finishing with a barely legitimate 103 mile cloud soaked ride.
The CB is performing wonderfully, and the new clutch plates allow me to push it much harder without any slip.
I don’t know that I have touched the Ton this year but the CB is quite capable, and I generally don’t exceed 7000rpm shifts either. I have to confess I wasn’t looking at the gauges when I reeled in and passed that Harley last week. 48mpg is pretty good
There’s about six weeks left in the riding season here, plenty of time for more adventures.
Stay safe and healthy.

So do you like Mogen David 2020..?

Overall I think this is going well. MY Intent was to get more of us out riding our Single cam bikes, but also people in general just getting out riding... and that was partly directed at a few local people , that dont seem to want to ride anymore..
Also I am glad that the always commuting types , chose not to list all their everyday rides..  in the spirit of the whole concept.. and to those,  that maybe got nudged into going on a few rides because if this , I am betting.. no Regrets ?
Perhaps it should be an annual thing ?

Frank, you should hang on to it for now and I will have a sip of something special around the house here.

All of my rides are special, I would get to very few of these places if not for the CB

I think it was a good idea for a forum thread, and would not at all oppose it being an annual thing.
Anything that gets people out riding, regardless of what they are riding, is a good thing.

Thanks Andy.  The leg did better all day on the motorcycle than it does sitting at the desk for two hours at work, which ought to tell me something.

I've been doing pretty well since I had the spinal injections in March, but I know when I've been sitting either on a bike or in a car after not long. No matter, the Covid thing is improving here on my side of the pond, so I'm looking forward to finishing my 20 rides by years end, and at least 21 in 2021! ;D

My back has been broken four times. It took a while to convince my Dr that the bike is more comfortable because with my arms on the bars it takes upper body weight off of my spine. I don't care if it hurts, I'm riding anyway. I rode one trip this year with my big back brace and two trips with the small brace. When I can't hold a bike up anymore I will get a CanAm to terrorize the highways with. 8)

Today I got a 133 mile ride in with some friends. We rode north on Chuckanut Drive to Bellingham. We tried to go to the Boundry Bay Brewery but they wouldn't let us in because we didn't have a reservation, at a brewery. ::) So we told them we will never be back and left. We rode around Lake Whatcom to Hwy 9 to the Blue Mountain Grill. The food and service was excellent. We rode home south on Hwy 9. It was smokey all day from the fires but traffic was light. Overall it was a great day. 8)
