70CB750, I hope your time here goes well. The weather has straightened itself out and should be good through the weekend. We haven’t yet had a hard frost so the good color is a bit further north. Hurricane remnants usually pass to the south.
The apple cider is excellent, although I dropped my jaw and $17 for a gallon with 6 donuts. Northville, Commerce, Franklin, Romeo. Northville has drive through cider service due to Covid. Franklin village is a world away from the suburban hustle and bustle and near 14 mile and Telegraph. All will be busy on the weekend.
You have seen my map with good MC roads to the west. North Territorial road is the artery west from Plymouth well into Jackson county. I dont ride to Oakland county much but Milford, Holly, north Oakland county are nice. A longer scenic ride is around the thumb on M25, 280 miles.
None of this will match a ride through Shenandoah or Skyline dr or BRP, but it’s the best we have and it’s nice. Enjoy.

Thanks. Kevin.  I will not be doing much riding in MI, going there to spent time with my oldest.   And shop for Polish food maybe  ;D

I am grateful for the weather - except the wind yesterday I could do without.

Did my first 100 mile ride of the year (how sad is that) with a trip up to Lake Geneva Wisconsin to meet up with a brother-in-law for lunch, then headed west to the Lake Michigan shore to ride Sheridan Road all the way back down to my home in Evanston.

Well Frank, originally I planned to do your 20 100 mile ride dealio on the 750, but it has been down for a minor but incapacitating problem.  All good now, so went for a ride today.  Planning another one next weekend.

I took it off last year when I did the repairs from the collision.  The Windjammer was a little scarred up and the mount bent, but fixable.  The fairing took a lot of the impact with the road and undoubtedly saved the bike from far more damage.  I don't commute on it anymore so decided to take it off.  Mileage seems to be much the same.  The main difference I've seen is 70-80 mph is less easy at longer distances, I have to dress warmer on cool/cold days and the front end is a lot happier without the weight up there.

Trip #9:

Madison Heights, MI to Warrenton VA.

Based on my records it was 678 miles, ugh ;D

But once I cleared Pittsburgh area - fog and drizzle - the weather was great.  She worked flawlessly from 8AM till 9PM. Took a picture with Lake Erie.

I have passed 10.000km on my K6 since March 21 this year! ;)

Lots of "long" rides, 200-250km this year!
Maybe even more than ever before.

My second rear tire is rather flat. It has life left but with reduced handling.

Around 8000km/ season back in    active days 79-88. Seasons where shorter then, mid April- early May to September.

Latest years late March to entire October.

Photo from March 29 when I hade done around 300km in one week

Finally photo from today after an after lunch ride.

Ride 25 164 miles 75f

We are getting 1/2 day of decent weather right now so I beat it up the road to Port Huron to get a Lake Huron photo but just before I got there the light turned red, the gates went down, the bridges went up and so I was postponed for 10? minutes. I had hoped to have a leisurely ride home but I checked the radar and the storm is advancing more quickly than expected so I hustled back down the interstate to beat the storm home. I have never been caught out in a hailstorm before, but hail is on the menu for today.

The Blue Water Bridge connects Port Huron and Sarnia, Ontario. The westbound span is the original, from 1938. The eastbound span was opened in 1997. The St Clair river has a stiff current just below the bridge. Lake Huron is just above the bridge. I had hoped to see a freighter navigate through, and photograph some other landmarks, but the weather had other plans for me.

Well the rain is howling down outside, so while I could still install my repaired tank on my F2, fill it with gas and go for a ride (within a 25 Km radius from home) I haven't replaced the rock hard 20 year old tyres so I think I'll wait until the sun is back out again. Oh well, the longer the tank sits empty, the more time the tank liner has to cure nice and hard. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Unlucky #13?

Set off yesterday for a +100 ride. The weather in Ontario was superb, +70 degrees and pure sunshine. Got about 20 miles and the K3 started running out of steam. Alternating between 2-4 cylinders. Stopped for an early lunch (outside patio, Bridgenorth). Pulled the points cover, all tight, good looking gaps and no sparking or loose wires. Fuses all clean and tight. Fuel flow looked fine and bike fired up. Ran fine for 20 minutes and then started to pop and fart again....... last 10 miles home, ran cleanly again.... parked it the shop. Time for a full tune up, but I suspect I will be looking for a loose connection, or perhaps a tired coil. This bike has never been apart. I did the front end, and the back, but the engine/gearbox have been so well behaved, I rarely have to mess with it.

Oh well. Long winter coming, for now I’ll just run the K1 or the K4.
P.S. Terry....... VERY nice paint!

Nice paint work Terry and nice color too. Does your F2 have color on the tank only or other parts as well?
A 25K limit sounds restrictive but hopefully things will be wide open soon. As an alternative, you could come here and ride all you want, although the weather is declining and you would have 1700 chances every day to win the state Covid lottery.

Thanks Kevin, one day, when the whole CV thing is just a memory, I’ll be coming over for a couple of weeks, buying a cheap old Harley and riding route 66 from one end to the other!

The good news is that we’ve had two straight days of 0 new CV cases and 0 deaths, so after the 9th of November intrastate travel is ok again, so I’ll be riding the wheels off all my (legally) rideable bikes, and getting my 20 rides done and dusted!

I’ve got a couple of minor fixes to do on the F2 and paint the other panels to match the tank, and I think I’ll drop the oil and filter while I’m at it, but it’s going really well, and I’m really happy with it. ;D

With the 750F down most of the summer, I've been trying to make up for lost time while the weather holds.  Took a ride up past Sweet and Ola, ID.  A beautiful day, and the good ol' 750 is back and running great.
