using a 18 inch rim on a 1978 750k

Im hoping to get some info, I have a 1978 cb750k that im doing a cafe racer project i want to mount a 18 inch rear rim instead of the 17 inch, can i use the hub from my 78? without any issues. any help would be much appreciated

There are indeed better expert than me, but I don't see any problem to do so - just reuse the hut with sprocket carrier.
I was told by someone that in fact 77 and 78 17 rear rim is in fact 18 inch, it has kind of groove on the rim to fit smaller tire. That  groove is usually fist where chrome corrodes - there is dirt and water kept by centrifugal forces when wheel rotates... Look on rim shape and compare with 18" you will see it.
I have K7 750 and the same 17" rim - I don't like it but it is original.

You don't even need to use the 77/78 hub, just the sprocket carrier.
If it works good, it looks good...
