Did Santa leave you anything cool?
« on: December 26, 2019, 09:37:59 PM »
My kids are all doing well and the best thing I got was a Christmas family picture. Next best was a pair of Persol sunglasses. Not the Steve McQueen model but close enough. I had to turn on lights so I can wear them indoors.

Our family group reminded me of the elderly woman grinning at a family gathering. Someone asked her why she was smiling, she replied I realized all of these people are here because I got laid.

My Santa is a keeper. 😇

Santa brought me a brand new Ruger Precision Rifle
chambered in .338 LaPua  [lay-pwa] is how LaPua pronounces it.
[La-poo-ah] is the Americanized mispronunciation of it.
Santa included a FFP Vortex 5x25x50 big tube scope.

My son and I had a great time with the initial Zeroing.
The $3.00 a trigger pull had its own uniqueness. 😳

Children had the boys (Maximus and Titus, German Shepherds)
sketched in charcoal and framed.😇

Son got me a FFP 5x30x56 SightMark w/30mm tube for my old
Windchester M70 chambered in 7mm RemMag.
Sighting it back in was more enjoyable @ $1.00 a squeeze.

Best present of all, “ All my family was Healthy and Happy”.
Barring the normal flu/cold bugs. All made it back home safe and sound.

Jesus was the Reason. 😇

Hope everyone had a memorable Christmas 🙏

I bought myself a subwoofer for the garage and a new stereo for the kitchen, because I'm tired of dealing with sub-par sound in two of the three places I tend to listen to music the most.

I am very lucky to have such awesome friends. Of course they will be here all the time using it. 8)

My nephew has one, he said the scope was as expensive as the rifle. He heard rumors of a 1500 yard range around here reopening soon. He was also impressed with the per bullet cost. He's getting set up to reload in case he ever empties a box of bullets. L0L!

+1,  scope costs as much or more than the rifle.

Some Vortex scopes are made right here in USA🇺🇸. Amazing 😉
Lifetime warranty, no sales receipt, no 1st owner, a real warranty.😇
My son and his buddies (one on leave) took it out to 500m today.
Kept them all on a 10x12x.375 ar500 plate steel swinging 🎯.
They had some really tight groups. Need a down range GoPro.
We're saving the brass too and dreaming of 1500'

My brother brought me our Dad's old Ranger 22 semi auto tube fed rifle and another one like it. Same internals as a Savage 6a or Stevens/Winchester 87. As near as I can tell they are both pre war, probably 1939 and 1940. I nabbed an old Weaver 3/4" 4x scope off ebay but missed the bid on an N3 mount for it. Fortunately or unfortunately they are both drilled for modern scope mounts. I popped a more modern 1" tasco on it for now.
My Daughter got a 1951 Savage bolt action 22 with a gorgeous walnut stock and 10 month old grandson got a Keystone Cricket 22 single shot with a Daddy lock for when he is old enough. My brother wanted to leave a legacy to the youngest relative.
