Again, 500 Four Seat K0/K1 question
« on: January 03, 2020, 07:54:00 AM »
I finally decided to install the K1 seat. Actually it has a Giulari seat and everything is a little messed up. The main question I have is, will the seat frame plate of a K1 bolt on to my K0 frame? If so, problem solved. But that is what I try to figure out. I made some pictures of the frame, can somebody with a K1/2 make some picture as well please? The lock that is installed on my bike is really weird...

This is the K0 version:

and this would be the K1/2

Now this is what i took of my bike and the question is, are these 2 different seat plates exchangeable? Meaning, is there difference betweena K0 and K1/2 concerning seat mount?

Can you help me with some clear pictures? Thanks again!
And yes, as soon as I have the solution, these parts become available as well as the seat. It is in very good condition, there is one bolt broken on the inside (not in use on my bike). It even has a nice compartment.

The lock brackets will interchange no problem AS LONG AS you use the correct seat to fit the lock. The hook from the K0 WILL NOT FIT the seat from a K1 nor vice versa.

If the lock assembly from the K0 is available i will happily pay for it and postage to cover to uk of course

Thanks for the reply. The lock assembly is not as good as it may seem. The interior is rebuilt and is not original. I just put muy seat on eBay as I want original. You can find it here: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F274181963760

Now it seems that the brackets for K1/2 are also impossible to get... that makes the swop more difficult. If I don't any I will have to stay with K0 and get the Silverspare seat.

Great, let me know what you find. The locks are easy to find including the 'hook' for K1/2.
By the way, a K0 assembly is sold also new here https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F293312946463 of interested.
