Honda Parts manager in the mid 1970s Nashua Honda
My current rides
1975 K5 Planet Blue my summer ride, it was a friend's bike I worked with at the Honda shop in 76, lots of fun to be on it again
1976 K6 Anteres Red rebuilding project, was originally my brother's that I set up from the crate, it'll breath again soon!
Project 750s, 2 K4, 2 K6, 1 K8
2008 GL1800 my daily ride and cross country runner

Prior bikes....
1972 Suzuki GT380 I had charge of it for a year in 1973 while my friend was deployed and learned to love street riding....
New CB450 K7 after my friend returned...
New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

Stu…. Incredible good fortune and he seems like a really good guy on the phone too. I’m in no rush, focusing on the K6. Despite getting the cast off her shattered ankle (replaced by an air filled “walking boot”) my wife is still using her “wheelie chair”. I probably won’t be getting a day off anytime soon. Long winter, so no rush!

I didn't shatter an ankle but had a 98% rupture of right Achilles tendon and was on crutches for about 9 months. Was 18-24 months before it was sound again with some permanent damage (nerve and lost range of movement) from the accident that caused it.  So, I can relate to your wife's reduced mobility.
Hope she recovers fully and is back to her usual activities and self come spring. Imagine she has several months of physical and occupational therapy to rehab the ankle fully when she transitions to weight bearing.

She actually blew it out the side when she landed…… fortunately she is extremely fit and is making excellent progress!

I stumbled on a 1971 cb750 speedometer. I’d like to use it on this project as it has the built in warning lamps. Anyone have a reasonably priced tach to match?

How do you tell a 71 from other years, of course redline tells you on the tach between one for a cb750 or cb550 …
That one is in mph John , when did Canada go metric? (Curious)

This is a 71 set. Note that there are warning lights in the tach and speedometer.

Sept. 1977. The very early speedo/tachs had plastic housings and lenses. Brake fluid played havoc with then. The K1 (1971) has a metal housing and a glass lense.

Pulled the Rickman to “front and centre” today. The fellow that fixed the broken fins on my Sandcast Project has agreed to weld on all the brackets I need to reattach the road equipment. The bike was a racer forever and lots of bits got hacked off…..

It’s strapped tight to a rolling cart to get it to his shop. The engine and carbs are in place, so he can weld in the tabs I made for the airbox mounts on the frame.

I’ve built the side stand as a clamp on, but once he welds it in place the top half and all the bolt tabs can come off. It will look just like the original lug.

The Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance organizers are looking for “British Bikes” for next year’s event so I have a deadline! I don’t take my bikes to shows, but that one is so interesting that I’ll make the effort.

Thanks Brad. Stay tuned. I first saw this actual bike in 1977. Watched it Vintage racing for the past 20 years. Determined to get it back on the road!
