You could build a Z1 clone out of a newer kz1000. They're still affordable. Z1parts sells tanks and seats.  The fork lowers with reflectors might be hard to find.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

A 12 mile Gl1000 LTD went for over $30k. Someone at the GL1000 group on Facebook had posted the pre-auction estimate of $22k-$30k and we all thought that was too high, even GoldWing guru Randakk. But then the room proved us all wrong and it sold for $33k including the estimated premium.

Steve-O,
I was looking at all the Z1s and told the wife I wanted one some day ( a rider though) and guesstimated the prices.  I was way off, they brought way more than I realized which she pointed out of course.

Hey Rich..sounds like a fun time.  You should def buy a Z1 when you find the right one for you.
I may bring mine to Harvest Classic later this year and will let you ride it if you'd like, but it's def not for sale!

PS. Your wife is a gem!  Mine would never consider going to a vehicle auction.

That's a beauty SteveO.

Here you go, it made $33k, which I think is more than any of the other SOHCs except the Vic World one.

Meanwhile, did you see that an RG500 Gamma made over $50k? That was about treble my guess.

I'm not sure what Tim is seeing, $18.7k is what I see for the '75 Rickman CR750 went for.

Someone got $6,600 for a sub 1000 mile '78 550K wearing its original tires, which is WAY more than I would ever have guessed. In 2011 When I bought my '77 550k with 7,700 miles on it and the original tires I paid $700. Later that year when I sold it with a couple thousand more miles on it I couldn't get more than $1,300 and it looked like it had just rolled off the showroom floor and ran like new.

Yes, there's a second one that went for that- lot S316, it says it was "Built from a barn find chassis kit that was never completed, titled or licensed."  I guess that knocks the value down a lot.

I was just scrolling through the results and saw that. The $33k bike isn't listed as a Rickman, so it didn't come up when I search Rickman instead of Honda.

The search is a bit dodgy, apparently you can even buy a Kawsaki and a Kawasaki-Honda.

Loved to see this, I didn't even know a street version existed

Those CR93s are amazing bikes, as well as being gorgeous they made over 40bhp, which is incredible for a 250cc twin in the 1960s

A few goodies will be crossing the block at Mecum in Glendale, AZ next month as well. Just down the road from me. This time of year car shows and auctions are pretty common around here.  Tickets are more than they used to be, but still a lot cheaper than Barrett Jackson.

You have to buy a ticket to get into the auction?

Yes, $20/person/per day.  Worth it, it is the ultimate show.

To bid, it's $150 [or $500 for "Gold" status] to register, and entrance is free for you and 1 guest.

I'm afraid to ask... but I will anyway: what benefits does the $500 "Gold" status buy you over the plain ol' $150 fee?
