7A carbs: correct "T" fuel connectors
« on: January 13, 2020, 04:37:54 PM »
Bought a set of 7A carbs supposedly from 71 CB750K1.  While going through them, found some discrepancies.  First attached pic shows the T's from the 7A (1971) carbs.  One T takes two o-rings and one takes four.  Both have 5 mm ID.  Partzilla schematic shows two o-rings per T.  Parts book for 1969 shows same.

Second pic shows T's from 7A on the left, and the T from 064A carbs (1973) on the right.  ID of the 7A is 5 mm, 064A is 4 mm.

What is correct for the 7A - two or four o-rings per T?
Is 5 mm ID correct for the 7A? T from later carb has 4 mm ID.

Current Projects: 1973 CB750K3; 1972 CB350K4; 1980 CX500D;1969 CB750.  Roadworthy: 1971 CB750K1

I've never measured them, but the tees in my set of 7a have 4 o rings, and as far as I know,
they are factory correct.

If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

I've disassembled several sets of carbs and the only Ts I've seen take four gaskets.
You only go around once in life so it might as well be on a motorcycle.
