CB400F upper brake hose length
« on: January 16, 2020, 09:23:31 AM »
Could someone with a 75 or a 76 measure the length of the upper brake hose please?

I want to replace my brake lines and I believe I have a 77 hose that was meant to accommodate later, higher bars (I have early, low bars). 4into1 sells a kit that has a 350mm upper hose, but according to what I can gather on Webike in Japan, there was a 300mm and a 350mm upper hose. If that's the case, wouldn't the 350mm hose be for the 77 bars?

Thanks.

You will have to convert to metric but I have recently bought three sets of lines from Apex for '75 F0 model handlebars. All the specs:

upper line 12" with 15* banjo fitting one end, other end 0* banjo fitting with no offset.

lower line 14" with 0* banjo fitting one end, other end convex female fitting. then you buy the replacement brake pipe from 4into1.

Thanks! I actually have 2 good brake pipes.
So 300mm upper hose it is, then. Would you recommend Apex over 4into1? I'm actually keen on this one from Webike, as it has the spring protection on the tube:

Apex the guy will start crimping the lines while he's still emailing you and they will be in the mail by the afternoon. 100% recommend them. I have them on all my bikes.

Also these are stainless braided lines. Much harder to bend than the plastic stock ones. I also wanted to keep that spring for original look but its not needed. It's supposed to keep the line from getting kinked and bent, not gona happen with stainless.
