Number on 1977 750K7 frame
« on: January 14, 2020, 03:31:22 PM »
My bike has the pictured number stamped in the frame cross piece just aft of the battery box. Does anyone know the significance if any, of this number?

Means something to a po who had number stamps
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Mine has 2216 stamped in the same spot. Probably used to track sub-assemblies prior to welding. Definitely not a freelancer with stamps.

Or maybe St John's Honda on Portland OR. Surely some detail oriented specialist/enthusiast in re the Honda SOHC 750 knows what the number on the frame means.

It is a job sequence number.
77 vin started CB750-2700009, if owners report relation to vin we can determine if the sequence ran through all of 77 or restarted at some interval like each month.
