Emgo switch wiring
« on: January 13, 2020, 10:28:40 AM »
I'm replacing the stock right switch on my '82 CB650SC with an Emgo universal switch.  I have the start button sorted and working properly based on the following mapping. harness to switch:

Black/Red -> Blue
Blue/White -> Black
Black -> Red
Yellow/Red -> Black/Red

I mapped the engine stop switch as follows, it has no affect what so ever.

Black/white -> White/Black
Black -> White

I realize that the engine stop may work in reverse, that is the STOP on the switch will complete the circuit.  I have 2 black wires on the hareness to the appropriate switch wires indicated above.

Yellow/red, yellow, and black/yellow on the switch will not be used as the on/off switch doesn't replace any stock functionality.

What am I doing wrong?  Can I forgo the Engine Stop switch and just use the key to kill the motor?

I attached the emgo wiring diagram and the bike wiring diagram for reference.
