Newbie from Maryborough Australia
« on: December 25, 2019, 03:53:20 AM »
Hi Trevor Waller form Maryborough Qld Australia, I have had bikes since I was 15, so that's 50 years ago, but always Triumph, have done a couple of restorations the first was a Bonny and the second a Trident, both were basket cases, the trident managed to win the Riders Choice award in the National Classic bike yearly meet in New Zealand, when I was in my teens I tossed up between a Trident and the Honda CB750 and sorry to say the Trident won.
So now I have corrected that and just bought a 10-1975 CB750 K6 from the states, only done 14,500 original miles but needs to be recommissioned as it has sat around for many years and needs a bit of love, it is very original and most original parts are still there and in good condition, see the pictures attached.
So my info on Honda's is very limited and will need to ask some silly questions, but if I don't ask I will never know.

Regards Trevor

Welcome from Lake Superior,

Clean the carbs, check the points, get some good gas and let the rumbling begin.

Hiya,
Yes my 500 is very similar. Import from the States. Only 15,000 mile on it. Lots of good original bits. It's carbs were absolutely trashed with gunk but after some vapour blasting and all new needle/seat, floats, jets etc, she started and ran fine.
Enjoy!

G'day from Melbourne, good luck getting the bike back on the road and welcome back from the dark side ( at least it wasn't harleys......)

Check out Terry In Australia 's recent builds, he's been resurrecting a couple of old 750's lately , amongst other things ( including his strange obsession with things of half the required cylinders to qualify as a proper motorcycle)
Apart from him there is a ton of info around here, and for a good laugh just start a " what oil should I use" thread
i blame Terry
