What does this seat lock go to
« on: January 19, 2020, 05:20:15 AM »
Acquired a seat lock off a 750k2 that came with a different seat lock. It doesnt have a cover over the lock.

Any ideas?

Can't tell exactly, but it looks a lot like the one from my 750F3, too.

You mention cover, the 75/76 F0/F1 has a hinged cover while the F2/F3 does not.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Thats a normal 750 seat lock, how about a pic of what you have?

Ok. So here is a comparison between the 2 different seat locks that I have. I have only ever seen a seat lock with the cover.

Have a seat lock with a cover that came off a K2 and a K5. The seat lock without a cover came off a K2 parts bike recently.

None of the bikes had matching key numbers for seat, forks, or ignition. Unaware if any of the seat locks were original.

Okay.  Sorry, I spoke to quickly.  I have the covered lock on my 750K3.  The uncovered lock is on my 72 CB350K4.  Not saying they're correct, it's what they have and works.

Maybe early ones had no cover and later did, Honda modified things like that and didnt change part number

Maybe the covered lock was an option on the same bike?  1973 or later?

my 750 k5 has the cover that is spring loaded and flips out of the way when key is inserted. The
pin that the cover pivots on can get broken, as well as lose its tiny c clip.

Ive had the tiny c clip fly across a kitchen. It was never seen again.
