Wow, that's a huge auction- so far I've spotted 4 CB400Fs, 25 CB750s, 4 RC30s, 4 1974 Ducati 750SSs.

What else have you spotted, and what are everyone's favourites?

I’ll be curious what the Rickman CR sells for (same bike sold on BaT for $28K a few years ago). Help me justify what I can spend on my new project!

Not sure about this auction but the recent car auction in Kissimmee [3500 cars!] was live online, I watched parts of it on my iphone at work!  [research for my buddies next classic car purchase]

For those who haven't been, the Mecum auctions are fun to attend!  It is like the ultimate car/bike show, and everyone there has the same basic interests.

I went to Mecum Houston last year, my buddy bought 4 cars. We are likely going back in April...

The car auctions are live on YouTube, so I'm going to see if these will be later today.

Excellent- just saw a Ducati 750F1 sell for $9k and a Ducati 851 make $6750.  Both would sell for a lot more in the UK.

For my life, I cannot understand why the ridiculous auctioneer-speak.  He occasionally stops and speaks like a human being - what a relief!

Anyway, it's certainly fun to watch!

I love watching the closed captioning try to decipher what the auctioneer is saying.
I was hoping to see some 750's sell to see what the auction market prices are. I'm not sure I'd take mine there. Between shipping and fees you would eat up a lot of money.

Overall, selling prices seemed to be about half of EBay asking prices?

I realize the first day didn't display the best bikes but it did look weak.

The prices did mostly seem lowish, but I am not sure what other costs there are added by way of premiums and taxes- some UK auctions run at over 20%. Also of course there would be the cost of shipping a bike home too. Also, I noticed several lots were not in the online catalogue, for instance the cheap Ducatis I mentioned above were listings G68 and G69 , but the online catalogue jumps from G67 to G70, so that would have removed all the possible internet buyers. There are several other gaps too.

The blue CB400F made a reasonable price for its scruffy condition, but I didn't spot any other sohcs.

Dare I mention, I rather liked this Harley?

The premium is 10% [or 12% if buying online or phone] plus you need to pay Mecum the sales tax on the spot as well [varies by state, Texas is 6.25%]

Consignment is also 10%, they get ya coming and going!

My good friend Len Fitch has some of his personal collection, including the early Yamaha roadracers he campaigned as a privateer. He sold his big TZ's a few years ago when prices weren't as attrractive.

I hope he does ok with these.

I have to say the selling prices I am seeing appear to be very very reasonable.
