CB550F Smoke after valve adjustment + 650 cam swap
« on: January 22, 2020, 06:30:23 PM »
Hi guys, I made the 550 to 650 camshaft swap today. I adjusted valves to .002 intake and .003 exhaust side. Had to adjust idle screw after that because bike died every time I was not throttling. Bike is running fine and idle fair enough but I am noticing white smoke from headers and exhaust. Maybe I dripped some oil drops on exhaust wrap, not really sure. Is it possible to have white smoke because of a bad valve adjustment? Bad timing maybe? I had to remove cam chain and sprocket to make the swap Should I adjust valves with a different feeler size or 650 is the same? Any advice on other things I should be checking? TIA
