Ignition ID?
« on: January 30, 2020, 08:01:00 PM »
Does anybody recognize this ignition? Was on the 78 750F I recently acquired.  Doesn't look like a Dyna.  Prestolite maybe?

I've never seen that one before!
How does it work?

I will let you know. The machine is semi apart at the moment.  However, it was one of those described as “running when parked.”    (20 years ago!)

It resembles the Prestolite, that worked with light IIRC.

Yes, Prestolite. I have one too, in a box, missing the rotor. As  I understand it, they work by a magentic trigger that was a little different to the usual hall sender, as it used both poles of the magnet to trigger the system twice per revolution.
