My 81 CB650 is back to life as of today
« on: January 23, 2020, 12:11:51 PM »
I'm excited. I picked up this garage kept bike a few month ago. It hasn't been running since 1993.
When I got this bike, I sprayed break free into the cylinders and rockers and cams. Than, in gear, gently rocked the bike back and forward to get the engine to turn.
This past week I rebuilt the carbs.
Today, I pored oil on the rockers, changed the oil, attached my jump starter, and fired her up. It idles great. blipped the throttle a few times, and it revs well.
Its a great feeling bringing a bike that has been setting so long back to life.

It's a great feeling to bring one back to running. It must have been stored well. How are the brakes?
