About the end gaps (just read your text?): 0.004" minimum on oil, 0.008" minimum on the other 2 rings.

I appreciate it! Yeah I was happy with the purchase price but soon realized costs would add up. I've been slowly accumulating parts so it's not a big ticket all at once.

Thanks for taking a look. I'm enjoying the process, I've been pretty focused on this during the shut down. I've been lucky to have this Forum and the knowledge within. I'm finally starting to see the build take shape.

Thanks For the reply. I found a reference through Cycle X of 0.008-0.010. They were all at~ 0.008 when I got them back from Ridge Reamer.

It's been awhile since I have posted an update. I am currently waiting on parts so I figured I would take a minute to update my build. I have been working on the frame and wheels in the recent weeks. I finally got the engine in the frame and am planning to start rebuilding the carbs. I am looking forward to starting this engine.
This was during frame prep / paint.

I got my swingarm back from HondaMan and got it ready too.

Now moving on to the fun stuff. Installed the tapered bearing kit and built the forks.

Polishing fork Lowers with the trusty Harbor Freight wheel.

Cycle X fork kit.

The new wheels arrived weeks ago. I finally got around to getting the hubs out of the old 16" and ready to start cleaning / polishing.

Next step Cleaning / Vapor Blasting

As the "stay at home orders" continue I am starting to see things come together because I spend each weekend focused on the 750.
This is my first attempt at lacing wheels. I made a mistake on the front and half the spokes were long due to being one hole off. I had to pull 30 spokes to make correct my mistake. Once you learn the puzzle it's fairly straight forward. The rear wheel took 25 min.

On to the rear!

I decided to hang the frame up with the forks mocked up so i could true the wheel. A DIY truing stand may be a future project.

The center stand was a major pain to remove due to the pin being rusted. I ended up cutting it to get it off the bike frame. I figured kroil and heat and it would let go. Nope! I ended up buying a long sawzal blade and cutting the blade so it would fit in the center of the pin. I cut a couple of notches through the center of the pin so I could break it with a punch. I finally got it out.

Well I am currently waiting on fork ears from DSS among other hardware to move forward. While waiting I'm trying to stay busy with little things I can do. I am working on polishing the rear sprocket and brake hubs. I got my tires back all mounted and balanced from Tfog Wheelsports Golden, Co. (Thanks HondaMan!) Now its a roller...

I'm looking forward to the next steps. I figured this would be a year long project but with current events Maybe I'll ride it this summer

I typically only save old broken or worn out parts that I'll never use just to clutter up my garage, but for some reason I happen to have a perfectly decent sidestand for a K5. Send me your address and I'll send your way.

Thanks Jerry I'm having a blast with it. It's keeping me focused on the positive during this lockdown. You dont happen to know of anyone who has an airbox for a 75'? Mine only came with the top half. I'm thinking of buying a new one from Yamiya but figured I'd try to find one here first.

On my K3 I have Continentals, block on the back, rib on the front. I’ll be interested to hear how your Avon’s perform compared to the older style tires.

I appreciate the compliment. I consider the project therapy and enjoy all the knowledge I've gained through people in this forum. I chose the AVON tires because HondaMan suggested them. I look forward to seeing how they handle as well.
