750 won't shift into gear
« on: February 09, 2020, 11:34:05 AM »
I have a 1977 Honda cb750. I went to go for a ride today and it won't shift into gear. It acts like it is stuck in neutral. All I did last was replace the left side cover gasket because it was leaking. You can pull up on the change pedal but it will not budge when you try to push down.

You were in there and now it isn’t working? Seems connected. Pull the cover off, put the shifter back on and see what is not engaged correctly..........

Open the cover and try gear without cover. Something must block the movement. The arm might be out from the drum it should move.

Got it! The shift arm wasn't on the drum. Must have gotten knocked off when I was cleaning my gasket surface. Guess I should have opened it back up and looked before I spoke. Thanks!
