Seeping oil pressure switch, CB350F
« on: February 09, 2020, 06:24:08 PM »
Haven't enountered this before, but I have been chasing down an oil leak under the sprocket cover in my 350F. Finally cleaned it today and ran it for a little while and... it looks to be seeping out of the oil pressure switch. Looking at the parts fiche it looks like it just screws in. A dab of sealer on the threads?

Yes but very little and dont just keep tightening as its a tapered thread

teflon thread tape, sometimes the actual switch will leak at the plastic part where its crimped in,if so get a new one,ive used auto store ones.

Just a follow up -- put a tiny amount of high temp sealer on the threads of the switch, reassembled, and that was all it took. No more leak from the left side. I was worried it was going to be oil pump o-rings or something esle (which still isn't that big of a deal) but I'm glad I tried this first -- it did look like the oil was coming from the top with the switch.
