CB400F greasing swing arm
« on: March 10, 2020, 06:51:40 AM »
I tried to grease my swing arm and I had a hard time getting the tip of my grease gun to stay on the nipple. I held it on and I pumped a few times without any problems, but then grease started accumulating around the end of the nipple. Would this mean my gun/bike junction isn't good?

the original fitting is for a special old style oil gun, so if you use a normal gun, grease gets everywhere because the fitting is small.

Grease gun tips normally have a threaded collar that tightens or loosens a collet to adapt to different zerk sizes.  You may want to see if yours is like that and if you have room to adjust it tighter.

People rethread the hole for a normal fitting. Or you can send to hondaman and he puts a modern fitting on the axle which is much easier to get to .
