Refurbishing my swing arm, I have a few questions k7 750

So im in the middle of swapping some parts around and getting a new back tire and I took my swingarm off. Everything looks decent. Rubber in the bushings on the ends feel great, pivot bolt came out fine, bushings seem okay as well. Got a new pack of grease fittings to replace the old one. Should I use moly or some other high pressure grease like Lucas heavy duty or red and tacky? Also how many pumps with the grease gun fills this thing? How will I know it's full? What's the protocol here?

Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Especially after washing or pressure washing.

Grease is oil contained (solidified) in soap, usually either calcium, sodium, or lithium.

One disadvantage of grease, it requires heat to release the oil to flow to the load area or constant reapplications.

There are EP "extreme pressure greases that can support very heavy loads and shearing forces.
In some applications, I like very light 00 grease it is practically oil and will drip in 90* heat. Effectively flowing to the load area during slow reverse clearance cycles.

At the ends as in down at the ends of the swingarm by the axle? Or the ends where it pivots? The drain holes by the rear axle are the only place I could imagine grease squeezing out but that seems like a lot to fill the whole inside

Lol okay good. Yeah I haven't reinstalled it yet. It's getting painted before I put it back on. Just wanted to make sure

Does anyone know what the 3 metal tabs sticking up off the swingarm are for? Obviously the one on the other side connects the rear brake stabilizer but what about the three tabs that stick straight off sort of inline with each other?

I’m assuming you’re talking about where the chain guard sits in

Ah, I never noticed it rested in there. That's it. Its not the tab with the threaded nut of course so that'd have to be it. Thanks!

Keeps it from flapping itself to death. Did you take bike apart ?  Are you using a manual ?

I'm not with the bike at the moment. It's across town in the garage where I store it. I just have a few parts from it that I'm repainting and cleaning up at home. I was looking at the swingarm as the paint dried and I was thinking about what the purpose of those tabs could be.

I put the swingarm back on the bike today and pumped it full of grease. I don't have a very nice grease gun, just a harbor freight mini one that uses the tiny 3 oz cartridges.
 
I was told when I got it full of grease that it'd start coming out the sides. I didn't see that happening. In fact, and I included that it was a cheap grease gun, it got hard to get any more grease out and it started oozing out of where my hose was fitted to the grease fitting. I figured that'd mean it was done. Is there a way to know for sure that it's fully greased?

Pielz..... slack off the swing arm through bolt and the rear, lower engine mount (footpegs). This allows the swing arm a bit of movement and the dust seals won’t be so tight. Grease should come out between the frame and the ends of the swing arm, when full. Re tighten.

Gotcha. Thanks! That makes a lot of sense allowing the frame to slack a little. I gotta get a better grease gun too. This little harbor freight thing isn't doing the trick. I really gotta learn to not cheap out on tools. Always end up buying doubles when I buy from hazard fraud, as AVE on YouTube calls them lol
