Do it yourself Ignition switch Bracket

After seeing people asking upwards of $100 for used rusty ignition switch brackets on ebay I decided to make my own using exsisting pictures on the internet. To be honest it only took about 30 minutes to make. It looks really good and feels sturdy after mounting. If you have a drill press, vise, clamps and some basic metal working skills you too can make one!

Looks like you just have to bend some metal and use a drill.  No mill needed.  Looks great.

Definitely not OEM but not much on my bike is original anymore...  :P


The tricky part of the bracket is having the equipment to drill a hole big enough for the ignition switch hole. I have an entire high school metal shop at my disposal so I have large diameter taper shank drill bits and heavy duty drill presses to fit them.

Anybody could use a die grinder and hog out that hole if they didn't have the equipment to drill a hole that big.

Or you can use a hole saw.

ya I saw that bracket shortly after I made my own but I'm still happy with my results. Saved the money and didn't have to wait for weeks to get it shipped to Canada...
Totally worth the trouble of making it in under an hour!
