1977 and 78 and they had an extra finned section and longer bolt.

This goes to something I'm trying to figure on out my bike, which is a bit of a frankenstein... in that it's a K2, but has the F-style oil filter cover. I've read that the oil filter covers themselves are the same, but they have different part numbers when you compare parts fiche from the Ks to the Fs.
