...but I still can't fathom the run on toilet paper???

It's because every time someone coughs in public, 10 others around him take a crap...

Start to feel as Mad Max, now inside the movie.
The biggest hoarders had fuel and steam punk cars drinking a lot, not toilet paper.
Maybe that came later with Tina Turner 1985, my eyes were focused on her nice outfit and what lured inside so I missed all toilet paper rolls. :D :D
Garden hose will work too. ;)

I went to Wally World today, and it was even worse than the last time: no toilet paper, no water, no canned goods, no meat, except for some fancy bacon wrapped filet mignone, no sandwich bread. The cashier told me they had just gotten a shipment of TP earlier in the day, but it was all gone by 3:00 when I got there. I'm OK on TP, but I'm running low on canned pinto beans with jalapenos..

If you guys are actually having trouble getting stuff, I have a friend who works nights stocking and he says just come when they open and the shelves are full. The stores aren’t having any kind of supply problem it’s just the crazies stocking up beyond their needs.

Reinforced the stock today :D
No problems to get TP here.
We have several shops with similar products.
Each package of 18 rolls double ply. 1500meter, 100meters from a mile ;) Really good paper for a heavy stinking burnout! :D

Now ready for the total close down.
Only thing is primary hub that I should have sent to Germany for cush rubber replacement 3 months ago together with old primary tensioners for rebuild.

79:- is about 8 USD, 1 year ago 10USD. Currency drop like a banana republic :(
My package cost 129 each  (~13 USD)

One more thing.
Wet wipes a must to have in car etc. Clean fingers after entered the credit card code on the keyboard at the shop where hundreds of sick people have used before, maybe Ebola too.

At least E- coli and "street chocolate" from people without TP :D

I am starting to develop neck issues shaking my head at all the STUPID sruff people are doing during this " crisis".

Does anyone here have personal knowledge of:
    A.  Anyone who has gotten sick with the virus?
    B.  Been hospitalized because of it?
    C.  Died from it?
    D.  Survived after getting it?

It all just seems a little much to me...........and toilet paper for a RESPIRATORY infection?
Maybe it's just.me, but I don't see the need for all this panic. Govenor nutball here in California has mobilized the Calif National Guard..........in Sacramento county ( state Capitol) only to help with " food distribution", hmmmm!
Sounds to me more like the KING is surrounding his castle with military protection. You know, for the good of the people🤪. Sure beats the crap outta  me!

For A: yep, my boss at work got it in January.
For B: Nope.
For C: Nope.
For D: He's OK now, back at work and all. He still is trying to 'keep his distance' from employees, but that's pretty easy since 80% of them have been working at home and e-mailing in their work.

I had [what I thought was] a cold in January, 1st week. It turned to something like flu, which I never get (except for the 2 times I got a flu shot: that worked, got it 2 days later both times...). I had breathing issues like congestion (or something, was weird), went to the doctor to see about getting antibiotics, and they told me that since I am on Medicare and not a member of AARP, they will no longer see me, even for cash (after 40+ years at this office!). So, I went home and a little over-used the home remedies and a few (3) weeks later I felt better. After talking to the boss who had it, those symptoms echoed his, but not anything nearly as bad as his bout.

Then, on the radio this week, there was an 'ex-spurt' doctor describing the ranges of symptoms for those who get it and die versus those who don't: it sounded like deja vu.

Hondaman I'm glad you are better and I hope for the best for your boss. My questions were not to play down the virus or it's symptoms, but to point out the sky is falling mentally that has taken over the country.

During the time you were sick how much "EXTRA" toilet paper was required to get over it?  Probably none to not much. The point of my questions was for people to take a deep breath, count to 10 and quit acting stupid.

Because of these shut downs I have a few boys in our scout troop who will age out before they can finish all their requirements. I haven't seen any plans to help these young men in their quest so far.  It really is a shame.

Eagle scout is a very big deal and these guys are being ripped off. The biggest part is they have to do a service project, fat chance of that with every thing shut down. All troop meetings and outings are now off limits.

I'm trying to come up with a solution, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know please.

Sorry to hear that. Dont get me wrong I'm not trying to be heartless or callous and you are in the belly of the beast, so to speak. I have just not heard of anyone I know having any 1st hand knowledge of anyone having this virus. Did you know that fella that passed, or just heard about it?.

I have heard that the infection rate is something like 1 in 22,000 which is pretty low. My numbers could wrong and that is for the United States. Plus with a conservative recovery rate of 95% this doesn't seem like the " you got it, you're going to die" that the media is playing it up tu be.

All I'm saying is chill out people and quit freaking and hoarding, we are going to make it through this.

No worries I wasn’t taking offense but I am kind of seeing that skepticism from a lot of posters here, so I’m trying to do my part to tell you how serious it is here. Right now it doesn’t seem that bad but if enough people ignore the orders, we will all know someone who died pretty soon. It’s better to overreact than under.

Also depending on where you get your news, you’re gona have a different feeling about it, I’m trying to use the forum here as a neutral way to reach across the aisle.

For the songs I mentioned earlier, one criticizes neo-liberals, the other conservatives, for the record I like both songs ;)

Is it? Could be a disaster either way and it looks like it is going to be economically.  A prudent, measured response seems like a better way, but maybe it is just me that thinks so.
