Mr Mike, Stater Bros are opening 15 minutes early just for 65 + . That's 7:45 , I see you are in Chino so there should be one  close. If you meet the minimum age requirements you are good to go!

Well doggonit!
I’m not 65 for another two weeks. But if this nonsense keeps up, I’ll be up and ready that birthday morning...well, if the world hasn’t ended by then, or state mandated travel restrictions keep me quarantined in my own house for the next 120 days. Thoughtful of the CEO or local managers to implement the break for seniors...I’ll have to remember to thank them for it.
Well...time to get ready to give it another shot, you guys have a safe day.

So taking my chances on going to the market early  “just to see” what might happen...that’s exactly what I saw, a “sea” of cars packed into the tiny lot, and cars circling like sharks around a carcass in the Pacific Ocean looking for that nonexistent spot, and lines awaiting the opening that rivaled the worst YELPed DMV in the state....all the way around to the back of the store...both sides. In hindsight, this was a stupid move. I took a deep breath, u-turned, went to the nearby donut shop and treated the grandkids and myself to a normal morning. Besides, at home I’ve got toilet paper for that morning “ring” that I otherwise wouldn’t have waiting in that ridiculous line.

Not to take anything away from the seriousness of this or any virus...but I sense there is a nefarious cabal rubbing their hands together and laughing their asses off at what they’ve created, but that’s just me. Next up—-failure of the EFT banking systems...what could be worse right?

I don't care, I've got a ton of frozen meat leftover from Christmas in my freezer, 40 litres of Ginger Beer and 20 of whiskey/whisky/Vodka/Port and enough of the wife's Clive Cussler books to keep me in toilet paper until the end of the world, which I hope happens on a week night.

I'll be pissed off if we implode from mass hysteria on Saturday or Sunday, I've got bikes to build! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

We do not have that hoarder problems here.
Everything available. Some days  some shelves in the shops are completely empty, refilled next day. I have so far visited the shops in time.

It is bad when a few can buy too much, nothing left for others.

Gotta love your humor Terry!
During these final days of earths rotation, my wife and I often quip sarcastic remarks to each other formed around the current topic which I won’t mention cuz it’s like a jinx. Ha!
So, you gotta freezer box in the garage do you? I wondered if Home Depo’s and the like are out selling deep freezers.
The kids are gone home now, but dang its only up to about 45 degrees here at home, and I’m not up for cold and wind chill today. But...tomorrow will be a new day. My older son recently bought a Yami TW200. The EBike craze got him fired up for more power or something. He’s not been interested in motorcycles his entire life. So, next Saturday if the earths still rotating, we’re going out riding! He’s excited to show me these paved mountainous roads he’s discovered over the last month or so. I have to admit, I’m looking forward to it.

I ea t breakfast at a cafe across the road each morning, which is staffed by nice young kids, probabl y international university students. On Monday, a dick walked in, and before he'd even ordered, demanded that a table be "Professionally" cleaned for him, and chastised the staff for not somehow being aware that we are in the middle of a major pandemic????? What a cock..... ;D

Thanks mate, I'd love to think that I've learned wisdom in my recent dotage, but I'm probably just full of sh1t. One thing I'm enjoying more though is spending time with both sons, who for some reason seem to enjoy spending time with me too, which is nice, when I think of all of the dysfunctional families out there.

I've learned that the only measure of your success is whether or not  you're happy. Money and personal possessions  (including a Scrooge McDuck sized money bin full of toilet paper) are only temporary conditions, but real happiness comes from how tbe people you care about the most interact with you.

My youngest son bought a new Royal Enfield 650 last year and we've been on a couple of rides, and my oldest is keen to come riding with us, which I think is wonderful, considering that they both have girlfriend's and their own busy lives.

My hopes of early retirement were dashed yesterday, so I'm sentenced to st least another few years of daydreaming of weekend rides, but thats Ok, I'm still happy, and that's everything I could have hoped for. ;D

I've heard that alcohol is helpful for stopping the Kung Flu, so I stocked up yesterday. It might come in handy if gasoline shortages pop up.

I'm working from home since yesterday as my entire office. Top management's recommendation.
A small 12.5" laptop screen only, missing the additional 2  24".

Checked TP, 38 rolls extra left...

Companies here close down due to no parts they do not get.

I guess companies will think about  second sourcing, not only from China.

Well I thought I was gonna be working from home from tomorrow because I'm in the "High Risk" category due to my age and recent medical history, but no, we're not at that level yet, apparently. Pisses me off a bit, a heap of bike parts arrived today, so I could have done some great "working from home".......... Oh well, it's almost the weekend. ;D

Tucson shutdown all dining room service as did Phoenix. All gyms, bars, and movie theaters are closed through the end of the month, likely much longer I think.
The run on TP and hand sanitizer switched to food and then it concurrently for many became a run on getting handguns and ammo. Serveral bigger chains that deal in guns and ammo suspended ammo purchases online and the same is true for gums shipped to a FFL dealer. (Federal Firearms Licensed dealer). Supposedly a leaked Gov't document was addressing plans for this crisis in US to be lasting 18 months at least which in part is due to the lack of a vaccine for the virus.

Time to get your house in order and be prepared to meet Jesus.
Probably a good idea in any event...
Not that it will happen tomorrow but, we are not promised our next breath.

Wash your hands and hang in there.

If you can get real gas, then a drum of fuel to run a genny or fill the bike or car might be a worthwhile investment. Would break the dependency for a little while on fuel supplies.
Water will become a serious issue here if the infrastructure breaks down.
David- back in the desert SW!

Well the good thing here is that fuel is selling at an all time low, I was so surprised when I filled my car today it was $20 cheaper than last time? The TP problem seems to have eased, and we've only had 5 deaths nation-wide, who were all old folks on their last legs anyway, so no biggie, many more die every year from the 'flu.

Most folks here don't have guns (nor do we need them) so no problems with guns or ammo, and the government has put restrictions (rationing) on some drugs that folks were hoarding. The Army hasn't been called out (yet) to enforce any of the restrictions, and whilst most of the larger gathering places (museums, art galleries etc) have been temporarily closed, most eateries are still open, and I had to laugh when I had lunch at my favourite Chinese restaurant today there were only 5 customers, all non-asian.

Not worried about meeting Jesus, as long as it's on a ride, and he doesn't kick my arse. Sure, he's older and has been around longer, but whereas he's got lots of responsibilities, my only hobby is motorcycling and riding stupidly fast, so if he does beat me, he better have built that bike of his, himself, or I'm gonna take the piss out of him for eternity.......... ;D

Guns and ammo will win over TP.
"This is a stick-up, give me all your TP!!!"

Or new payment for very old business of primal needs.
Hot chick: You can have me for 1 TP.
- What about my 2 friends?
OK, they can jump in for 3 rolls more!

I wonder what they sell a bike for when the new currency will continue?

This will be an era we all will remember like before and after in time.

Just bumping here mainly.  Ran across this article on the panicky aspect to this whole thing: https://www.worth.com/how-mass-hysteria-is-making-coronavirus-worse-than-it-actually-is/
Being an oldster myself..am taking precautions (diligent hand washing..hand sanitizers..vitamin C supplementation..et al.)..some social distancing.  Feel that's all a reasonable person can do.  Certainly don't feel that the excessive worry is either helpful or beneficial.

I eat 4-5 grams of Vitamin C / day devided in smallers doses after each meal.
I have convinced my wife and son to eat at least 3 grams, (3 tabs solved in water).

We do not visit others or restaurants etc.
I work from home with start this week. My wife will probably do the same shortly. We both work on a laptop in our offices otherwise.

I'm cool with that. We in Sweden are used to sit inside a lot in solitude.
The people more south like Italian, French and Spanish will most likely go crazy to stay home watching TV or wrenching on a bike in the garage. :D They are more outgoing meeting people in restaurants, cafes very often

I had a ride on my K2 today. It needed to rev +6000 rpm on the highway for 20 minutes to clear out, charging battery after smaller roads in lower speeds.

The fact is probably true a vaccine won’t be ready for 18 months or next summer so, the treatments they are trying to help lessen it are experimental right now. Trying to find what can help.

The panic and hysteria are the dangerous things.

I am not afraid of getting the virus, even with health issues. Recently had Influenza A even after having the flu shot this year and it kicked my butt hard for three days while the Tamiflu, made in India, kicked in to blunt the flu.  It really shocked me how weak I was when I had the flu. Goes to show how quickly a serious illness like this virus or the flu can take you down.
Majority of cases of this SAR-CoV-2/COVID19 are very mild.
It is the serious cases that can kill you or cripple you...having you on a respirator and if you survive it you may be looking at permanent lung issues from the scarring from the pneumonia that sets in during the disease ravaging your body. You might be looking at months of occupational therapy and physical therapy as you get nursed back to health to either your new normal or if you are lucky back to complete health.
I had a serious case of mononucleosis my last term of my senior year in college and my white counts went to leukemia levels and I had liver damage and was in awful shape, barely able to function part of the day. They wanted me to drop out of college and recuperate at home as if I got any worse They would be hospitalizing me. So we compromised and I went on a mega-steroid two week round of meds and took two weeks off from college and returned home where my Mom nursed me back to health and I stayed in bed most of the time. Initially I was being fed in bed as I was in pretty bad shape. Had been waking up gasping for breath as the throat/glands were so swollen I was getting so much mucous I couldn’t breath and would wake up and have to nearly throw up to clear my throat of the mucous and be able to breath. I looked like death warmed over and being 6’ 4” I was at 175 before Mono and a fit muscled 175, I was down to 150 and looked like death warmed over in less than six weeks. Before mono I could go run 3 miles at a good clip even if I had not ran in 3 weeks as I would join a friend and we ran at his pace and he was running 6 miles typically. It amazed him I could do that and it not kick my butt. It was a 6 minute mile pace.  It took a long time after I got a clean bill of health to recover fully. I didn’t drop out because  senior only classes are only taught once a year in my major, Electronics. my grades too a significant hit as I wasn’t able to grasp some of what I missed but I still graduated with honors.
Point is, this pandemic can be really bad if you get a bad case of it or if you are at high risk.
The baby boomers are of an age mostly who are into the higher risk category and there are lots and lots of older Americans...so, it is and will be a little risky for their generation and older Americans. But Americans do not like their freedoms to do what they want taken away... So, it is going to be interesting to watch this.  The media is not helping matters nor is social media. I don’t trust Even half of what I read on the web or hear in the media.
