Hey Guys,

I missed this section, and I've been posting a little on here but wanted to introduce myself. I'm a Michigan bike and car enthusiast. I've built a few bikes, sold a few and still have some of them.

1968- CL77 305
1975- CB750
1974- CB750 836cc currently in build
1973- CB500
1975- CB550
2017- KTM 300XCW
1993- Mustang LX Coupe

Always looking to meet up with other bike folks. If you're in Michigan the weather is getting better and I'm looking forward to riding season! Feel free to message me and we can plan some rides!!

Thanks all,
  Chris

Good to know! I'm located just south of Hartland.

The mustang was a fun project. I was a roller when i picked it up now it has a 2003 supercharged 4.6L 4V cobra engine. I had it on the chassis rolls and it made around 500. Just need a weather shift here in MI now and some rain to wash the salt off the roads  ::)

I've been to Texas before, nice state i visited a buddy when he was in the Air Force right outside of Abilene

I know where Hartland is, my good friend has a cottage in Hamburg, about 20 miles south of you.
It's on Strawberry Lake, we go every summer.

Texas has great roads for riding, I'm 200 miles south of Abilene near Lake Travis.

BTW - are you interested in a project bike for $500?! Derek's moving to TX.

That's funny, small world. Northern Michigan is beautiful. As for the bike, I'd love to but I've got to many projects going right now, thank you for passing it along.

I wanted to add pics of some of the bikes I've built/ am building. The Black 75 went to Japan after I was done, the orange bike stayed in Michigan, the BMW when to FL as well as the Orange CB500. i still have the Black and Gold one that's my current project.

Added one more... I really enjoy building these bikes, I'm sure i will catch some heat on here about "hacking" them up but I love them and so do the people I sell them to!

Hi Chris, from western  Wayne County. Your bikes all look nice. I'm not so sure how those Firestones would handle though.  Maybe I'll see you at Stockbridge, or Gilmore, or Holly.... or not. I can't imagine staying home on a sunny summer day.

Hi, I am from Kalamazoo.  Welcome to the forum.  To be brutally honest, I really don't like what you have done with your bike...but then you already knew I was here somewhere.  Hopefully, we can ride together sometime.  I will likely be at all the events Kevin mentioned.

Well, can’t please them all I guess!

I’ve been looking at Gilmore and it’s not to far from me. What do you ride Sean? Kalamazoo is about 2 hours from me, do you ever come out this way?

Brighton and Milford both have car shows in the summer on Sunday nights. If I can get out I try and go once a month.

As for the tires they’re not that bad, remember it’s cheaper to make soft rubber than it is quality rubber! The bike I’m building now is going to have some nice Avon’s I’m sure it will be a big difference over the Firestone’s... good to see some Michigan guys on here! Thanks for the welcome folks

Nice where do you ride in the dirt at? Honestly I ride my dirt bike more than my street bikes, I have a little property and managed to cut a trail. Nice collection of bikes, do you take all the older stuff to Gilmore? I’ve got a ton of CB550 parts engine rebuild with rings, spoke kits let me know if you ever need anything. And I’ll show you some burms if you show me the twisties  ;D

really jealous of the land and trails thing...living in the city there ain't anywhere to ride dirt legally, so I am still quite a novice on the dirt.  I have been to some state trails up by Evart a few times, although this summer will be the first with my own dirt bike.  I usually just ride to Gilmore, so only one bike.  Probably do the swap meet this year as I got wayyyy too much stuff.  One thing I DO need is a really clean pipe #1/upper lh for my 550.

Evart has some very good trails so does St. Helen. Good luck with the dirt bike they're a lot of fun, I made my 2 stroke road legal, it's funny the reactions I get riding downtown in the city. As for the 550 exhaust they're sold, the pipes went to Poland last year!

Jim from Flint, originally from Lenawee County, checking in here.  Rotate between taking my 75 CB750F0, or my 63 D100 truck  to the shows around here. Hope to get to Gilmore and maybe Mid-Ohio this year.   Hopefully even make it down to the meet-up.  Maybe we should attempt a Michigan/Great Lakes meet-up sometime.

dirt bike, St. Helen, Evart

Many years ago I rode my Honda SL through the Michigan woods on the Cycle Conservation Club organized trail tours. I have several 100 mile patches and remember rides from Boon, Indian River, Rose City, Atlanta. I think the CCC is still operating and running trail rides and maintaining opportunities for dirt riding.
My coworker didn't have a dirt bike and was desperate to ride so he did a hundred miler through the woods, Baldwin to Evart? on his new candy blue green CB750 K0.

Thanks for the welcome Jim. That sounds great I like the west side of the state, it's nice over there.

That's hilarious Kevin, I couldn't picture seeing a CB750 on the trail without some nobbies! CCC is still operating, I actually bought my KTM 300 from the guy that writes for the CCC. I sent him a message as well and hope to make some of their rides this year.

Thrashing a cherry K0 through the woods is a much bigger sin than mounting Firestones to one : :o

Dirt riding is a blast: You're pushing the bike closer to its limits..... at 20 mph!
