It has been announced that the first Manufacturers Cup race in Orlando has been canceled due to COVID 19. I feel it's a wise move on the part of the promoter and track owners. This thing isn't going away any time soon.  We have to put aside our selfish desires and think of others in order to get through this crisis. If it's in the master plan, We will live to race another day.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program: time for some wrenching in the shop.

Just get in the dang garage and install that lonnger swingarm and air shifter I gave you.  You can't call yourself a rookie anymore so it's time to step up your game. My money is still riding on you to win a race in  Man Cup.

Yep, stay safe everyone........my place of employment has been deemed an "essential business".

So work as usual, with is a good thing. Just hope we don't get any cases there.

My daughter works at a nuclear plant and they've had several cases, but it is an "essential business". Fortunate for her she's not been infected.
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Gotta be a bummer for Wilbur, since he's local; but you're right Frank. Even though the virus was manufactured at North Carolina University, and the end game is to crash our economy; it IS actually killing people, and has all the evidence of being a bio-warfare agent.

I am fortunate enough to still be gainfully employed, with most of our current projects being new hospital construction, I expect that we will continue to work at least until these projects are complete. I am also able to work from home if it comes to that since I am also fortunate enough to work here as a cad draftsman and generate the shop drawings for coordination/fabrication/installation. Hoping we are all able to weather this storm without too much grief.

Hmm, now use those CAD/fabrication skills to make some swing arm pivot bolt adapters and wheel spacer so you can install that longer GSXR arm on your bike.  8). This is your year to kick some tail but you have to make some adjustments. Oh, forgot to ask but did I send you a shift light in the package?

No, no shift light. Between ridiculous schedules on the projects we are doing (i.e. overtime required) and my four-wheeled fleet giving me fits demanding constant attention lately I'm struggling to find any free time for leisure pursuits.  :(

LOL! Yeah, I think the GSXR swingarm will add another 4" over the 2" extension I already have with the 79' CB swingarm. I was able to find an axle and adjusters, now I just need to start fitting it up. I can mock up fitment to a "spare" frame so when I'm ready it will be a straight swap. I have been mulling over rear wheel fitment/options, as well as fender placement. I like Frank's custom seat on the Red 750 F models he races and may do something similar, while trying to make mine unique, but with just enough similarity in order to pay homage to the original.  8)

Paying homage to the original is wise; since Frank's ingenuity appears to be well tried-and-tested over the years. One man's trials, become our rewards, if he's gracious to share 'em; and we're humble enough to try 'em.

Thanks for the words of confidence Mark. I'm not an expert in this sport by any means but I do have a bit of experience in the racing game. I had a lot of people that helped me along g the way and I learned a lot through my own trial and error. I  do my best to pass any knowledge I might have picked up to others. I feel that whatever I've learned is not actually mine to keep.  Being one of few Honda's out here drag racing makes it all more important to assist anyone else entering the sport in stepping up their game. Wilbur is at the point where he needs to make further modifications to his bike in order to achieve better consistency. I've passed along some parts that can help with his race program just as I would do for anyone else.

Frank, you're rather humble, with that reply.... Even 'experts' who are certified mechanics within the automotive industry; may have zero experience in the true testing grounds of racetracks; where the machines are pushed to their outer limits of capacity.
Racer/mechanics are the innovators who trailblaze tomorrow's technologies.....

Mark/Mark. I do the best I can. I'm  just fortunate to have developed some skills during my lifetime in order to support this hobby.

The race season had better start up soon. I'm already looking around the shop to see what spare part I have laying about to build another bike. I just need a decent roller as a base or a bare frame🤑

Build another track bike? Frank, yer gonna have more racebikes packed into that long trailer, than riders to race 'em!     You + Gladys can only do so much at one event!

Now there's a new project for you. I'm sure Dennis can share a few tips about running on that 'track'.
