retro sv650 conversion
« on: February 08, 2007, 05:25:28 PM »
i came to this french company that does this vintage conversion for the suzukisv650. i wonder if it would fit a 1000... i may consider this for a daily driver project. a late   model bike and realiibility... they also do a full fairing kit. ( i would personally skip the drum brakes conversion...)

i know, not a honda. anyone know if other bike would look good with that treatment?

that looks awesome!  aside from the fact the upper cowl is looking downward.  it needs to point straight forward and be maybe an inch or two higher.  i think they tried to match the angle of the tank and flubbed it all up in the process.

edit: of course it could be camera angle... man that thing is cool.

These pics looks photoshopped to me.
Do the products really exist?

yes those seems to be photoshoped. clic the link and you'll see the real thing. the other pictures are with fairing on primer. so they probably photoshoped a paint to look done. ( and swap the discs for drums)

i'm trying to find pictures of other bike frame to see how they would look with those fairing. a cbr600f3 with full fairing would be a solution, but i would like an half fairing, so frame configuraion must be adequate!

The pic I psoted above is Def. a photoshop job.
I would be very curious to see what those bodyparts cost (US Dollars).
Used SV100's seem to be pretty cheap, and I just might find one sitting in my garage come spring..

Neato.  I owned a SV650 and it was a fun bike, it loved to wheelie and get me in trouble, so it had to go last June.
IMO the SV is just too modern in terms of its tank design to mesh well with the "retro" fairing, but it doesn't look bad either.  It looks like it is trying too hard...if ya know what I mean.

Damn I love that retro look.  I have a SV 1000S...I would be doing a diservice to my wife and kids if I gave up the worked binders on my ride.  The ability to stop is as important if not more so, than the ability to accelerate.  Watch an F1 or Motogp race...they all make power and accelerate the same...the key is to brake late and carry corner speed and get the power down early.  Dont belive me....watch closley, down 50hp, the 800cc Motogp bikes are clicking off faster lap times than there260hp brothers did a year ago. The advantage will be gained with electronic aids that support corner speed in the form of keeping the rear hooked up while being nice to the tires.  I hate to say it, but I fast forwardedd most of the 250 races, because they are all about momentum and corner speed.  I enjoyed that the 990cc's were such beasts that they cooked their tires and towards the end of races, and they would steer with their rears all the time to drift under their enemy.....Sorry I got off on a tangent....Vodka and (fill in the blank) does thet to me...nice pics and I agree that the fairing needs raised.
