Anyone here make custom cables?
« on: March 29, 2020, 01:49:49 PM »
Hey guys,
My throttle cables on my bike broke last fall. My bike is a 77 CB750F with forks and R6 controls so neither CB cables nor R6 cables will work. I bought a Venhill custom cable kit. It got me running, but only lasted about 400 miles til the barrel pulled off (I dont have a solder pot or the tool to flare the cable end).

Id ordered a set from motion pro, but Im in limbo until businesses in Cali can open back up and Im dying to get the bike out. Any ideas?

Any high end bicycle shops open? Don’t laugh......They make some wicked cables and usually have a lots of bits in bins. A skilled builder might be able to fix your original cable  “temporarily”. I have an experienced local tech that helped me with a few bits for my 1917 Cleveland. He actually made a few spokes that can’t be distinguished from the originals....
