I just picked up one of these. I really like the whole story behind the development of the bike (the Duc hunter) and I love the big V-twin motor.
The bike is in excellent condition and has 13.6 K miles on it. I stripped it down and did a very detailed cleaning and inspection. I don’t see any staining on the engine cases, no chewed up hardware nor suspicious looking modifications. It seems to be a nice example that was put away and forgotten. Just needs a little TLC to come back to former glory.
There is a Hotbodies undertail unit installed on the bike which was a bit of a butcher job. The electrical connections were a mess and there’s some ham fisted workmanship involved but that can be straightened out. A little surface rust in the tank from sitting but I will hit it with some Metal Rescue and get that cleaned up . Looks like some fork seals are in order as well, there’s a little weeping on the fork legs. I’m sure the current set have dried out by now.
A little more elbow grease and it will be ready to go.

Here’s a few of the motor and front end.
