« on: March 30, 2020, 11:13:48 PM »
Wondering if anyone on here is running dual Mikuni carbs on a CB750 or CB550?

Any feedback?

Check out cyclex in minnesota, they are a supplier of a similar system.

I have the cycle-x manifolds and VM34s on a CB750K2 engine in my trike.  I didn't buy them, it was the PO that put these on.  They run, but I'm still doing things to get this trike on the road, so I haven't been able to really sort them out.  In fact I just stripped one of the carbs down completely, last night.

I contacted cyclex to ask how they typically set these up for a stock CB750K2.  This was the response:
#25 pilots with a starting point of 3/4 turn on the air mixture screw.
6dh8 needles with the clip 1 notch from the bottom.
159-02 needle jet.
200 to 240 main jets.

These starting points are with free flowing exhaust and free flowing air filters.
The carbs should not be sticking out sideways.

I found that mine have:
  • #35 pilots and about 2.5 turns out on the air mix screw.
6dh8 needles with the clip in the middle notch.
    159-O2 needle jet
    240 main jets

I know I'm running rich in at least the pilot circuit... plugs are black and I have some light white smoke at idle.  But I haven't been able to run it at mid or high range, yet.  I also have been getting gas out from the bowl overflow tubes, so I'm sure I have float adjustments to be made.
