On that bike with standard wiring and charging system that battery is no good as they are too tempramental

I've been running LiFePo batteries for almost 10 years now, but not that brand. The stock mechanical regulator is the only part of the stock charging system that needs to be up-graded; there are lithium specific reg/ rect units available. The one pictured is probably too small to reliably operate the electric starter, but should be OK for a kick only bike. If you desire to use the electric starter, consider the YLP14.

Reading the 3 reviews, 2 of them mentioned having to replace the batteries because they let them drain too low.
Seem like you have to treat them very carefully, and the first time you make a mistake, their toast.

Yes, you can murder them by either by overcharging or undercharging.

Thanks, which is the temperamental bit? charging system or battery?
As ever there's some internet chat suggesting the original system is ok if monitored.
Always up for an experiment so made this solid investment.

Thanks, I fancied the YLP07 for size but you're right, the YLP14 with 245 CCA sounds a bit more feisty.
I've got to this far with electrics and brakes to sort. Limited space to fit everything.

Thanks, missed the reviews piece. TBH I have little option other than to give it a go at this stage.

What is the current fixation with lithium batteries?
They are expensive, finicky on charge and dont last

Why do you say they don't last, Bryan? Like I said earlier, I've been using LiFePo batteries for almost a decade, and I have yet to have one fail. The first was a very small battery, which was fine for a kick-start only bike, but I decided I wanted a battery capable of operating the electric starter 3 years ago, so I upgraded to a larger battery.
Delta, here is my "BMI" :P
