Adding to the fleet maybe...
« on: August 18, 2020, 01:49:49 AM »
I have rebuilt the 1969 750k0 about 8 years ago and have ridden it since. I have ridden it much more this year as kids are more dependant which allow my wife and I to go for rides. To be honest I now mostly ride the old XT600 and she takes the k0 (it is hers from her dad’s basement after all).
I was just given this 1973 cb350 four. It is in quite rough shape so I’m trying to assess what it will take to restore it and if it is worth it.
What do you think?
Thanks
David

Well I just quickly put the bits from the boxes together and it look like it’s complete. Still some bits and ends in the box but it will need a full rebuild for sure...  unless I go for max patina...

Looks worthy to me if you like that model. I would try and get the engine running as is and hopefully it won't need a rebuild. Just seems there have been failures of guys trying to rebuild these little fours. Some people are not bothered by patina if its not too extreme others hate it. How many miles are on it and is the engine still turning over ?

The free ones cost the most.
First dee if engine will run and go from there

First see if it runs, or should I say how badly it may run.
Start with the end in mind...

+1...get it running and if you like it, keep otherwise sell it.  I helped my niece buy one for her first bike and she loved it.

BTW - Is that a Nissan in the garage?

Ahah, yep, a 85 911 turbo (930).
I think I’ll try and see what happens. First will be engine as you have said. The tank looks mint inside!

I think that the cb350 is a blast to drive and under appreciated. I believe that mr honda himself loved it very much!

Most expensive will be the 4-in-4, but still not like cb750.

Give it a try, it will surprise you.

I now have 2 next to many cb750”s and actually used these most this year.

Title not in hand yet but it’s coming. The actual owner has had it stored for years and he has the title somewhere. Of course I will wait until I have that before doing anything.

If I got it for free I wouldn't have the will power to not fiddle with it and get it running title or not. If you don't get a title and decide to dump it a runner is worth more.
