Cam chain adjuster wheels, where to buy
« on: March 31, 2020, 07:26:51 AM »
Hey everyone,

I'm finally getting around to putting my engine back together and at this point I'm ordering the parts I still need.  The last things I need are new cam chain tensioner wheels.  I've looked online and don't seem to see them anywhere.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  I'm sure they are out there somewhere.

Thanks,

Travis

Genuine Honda from a dealer, its been found the tiwanese replicas fail quickly. I understand some of the US specialists do suplpy good ones but as i'm in UK i cant attest to that

I purchased all cam and drive chain tensioners for my 75 from Honda parts direct. Sometimes slow to ship but all genuine honda. Partzilla may work also.

I'm sure some of the regular engine builders on here will advise on parts supply but i know here in UK one of the UK site members has had the pattern rubber parts like intake manifolds, rollers, gaiters etc tested and found the rubber on a lot of the cheap stuff is the wrong type and grade.

David Silver UK sell Honda stock tensioners.

I have noticed that the newer Honda intake boots for K1-K6 are softer than the very old, not as good.

That's it.  I was just wondering if there was an alternative that was made of better material.

Thanks everyone.

You need the smaller upper wheel too, part of the tensioner.
https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB750K2-FOUR-1972/part_104860/

It was the upper part of the Taiwanese tensioner that cracked for me and started the money back issue after more guys saw the same problem.

Race guys use another slide design as CycleX and others provide.
A forum member MessnerMoto sell an own design for race guys that ride the bikes with heavy engine braking, shifting down hard which is an internal chains killer.
Those guys need tougher primary chains too.
