919
« on: February 15, 2007, 04:07:06 PM »
Ok, after evaluating alternatives, I got a modern version of  Honda naked. It weight the same as 750f , but 919 cc and has fuel injection. It is 2002 - first production year. Got it for 3k with 19k on the clock and old tires ...
if it ain't broken it does not have enough features yet..

Nice bike, yeah they weigh the same but thats where the comparisons end.

That is a great price you got it for.

Surprisingly, 919 best torque seems to be in low-mid range - it has a detuned CBR motor. I rode it at the same rpms as 750f and it hauls great! 599 has a high-rev motor from reviews I read ..

That seems like you got a really good deal on the bike, as long as it was maintained properly.

The 919 really have some grunt, and they handle well also.  My buddy has one and I test rode it in the Fall.  I wouldn't mind having one for 3K.

I have the carbed version of that engine in my car. It is very strong and very fast. Best of all, replacements are cheap!

Valve adjustment is the pain on these engines - both cams has to be taken out. Luckily, it does not need it often!
