Just split the cases on my '70 CB750 K0. Took off the pan cover to sevice the oil pump and found this stuck to my magnetic drain plug. It's a thin steel disc with a small hole in the middle. It's shiny on one side and dull (from oil I'd guess) on the other. I have no idea whence it came.

It originated in the engine somewhere. I'm the original owner and I didn't put it there. I'm wondering if it's some sort of oil metering thing that belongs in a passageway somewhere. That's a metric ruler. The thing is only 8mm or so in diameter.

No idea what it is but being the ORIGINAL owner of a KO is very impressive!. Well done old boy.

If you check a KO parts fiche that looks like a washer that is inside the output shaft with a felt wad in front of it. There is a removerable nut with a thin shaft on it that covers the end of the output shaft.
That part seems to be on the very back part of the internal assembly, so look up the fiche for your bike to verify.

OD is about 8mm. Hole is about 1mm. Thickness is about 0.75mm.

Good call Flyin. It does look like that part in the fiche. But darned if I can see how it wormed its way into the crankcase. There is felt in the hole but no washer! When I switched to x-ring chain a few years back, I plugged the chain oil hole with a piece of brass rod. Maybe something went awry there.

I suspected end of chain over maybe , but it can't get thru shaft and into motor.
