not sure how much changed from '77 to '78, however with the exception of the wire clips they look like mine. (one side on the '77 have no wire clip, the other got 1 wire clip and a clip for the turnsignal relay

also, be sure they are not gl1000.  I tried to replace my f3 with gl1000 fork ears once as they look very similar.  It did not work.  I can't remember what is different.
If it works good, it looks good...

GL will be bigger than 750 or 550.

i don't think it is a 78F. Attached is a picture of mine which looks slightly different.
It matches the images for a 78F on the CMSL site.

GL is 37 mm. That , and being wider, and 4 bolt bottoms , is why they are a good upgrade for 500 and 750. Plus easier to mount brakes than the early fours.
