Oh man I have these on my XT500 and I’ve lost two of em in one ride. It was the only the third time I rode off road with them as well. They are such garbage, which sucks because they look great!!

How did it work for you when you replaced your timing chain and then reset the ign. timing, did you set it to stock spec on the timing ?

Yup it’s a stainless header to a 4” aluminium Trapp. Sounds great!

Where did you buy yours from? They’re all over Germany eBay and Amazon but shipping was a killer. I need a few spare sets ....at least lol.

Hey Dave...use a couple dabs of silicone, it will hold it but you'll be able to remove it if necessary.

I've done this on my Kawasaki on the side covers so they dont vibrate off.

Thank you!!

These look so much better than the metal-bodied indicators I have. I have snapped the ground wire off three of the four signals in under 200km of trail riding, lost one lens, and ripped one signal clean off. Lost one bulb as well. They are pure utter crap.

Of course, the XT does put out a good thumping... 2mm overbore, high compression wiseco, megacycle cam, big valves, big 36mm pumper carb that's port matched, big header with a supertrapp, it rumbles :)

those xr style indicators arrived mark, they are plastic bodied, the lens snaps in and out needs a knife edge under it to pop them off,the metal mount is fine thread screwed to the bulb holder inside, thats getting a dot of loctite on it!these aint sealed where the wire goes in so gonna plug with silicone neatly,i like em so far,bit larger than the yammy style so might use the yammy ones ive got left on the rear and a pair of xr ones up front?on the rear theyre gonna stick out a little more, ill toy with em on friday with a beer.

probably a bit more noticable on the road?im just gonna omit the body mount strap and just drill through the rubber into the flat bar, theyll poke out too far and break easy i think?using the complete mount they are wider,i want them tucked in.

I was looking at non-USA Honda's and thought I saw those same small size lamps you had installed previously.Does Honda install that same type but with an OEM quality part ?

the ones that were on it are copies of the yammy tt ones, these are copies of the xr ones grcamna2,mine are mounted on an aluminium bar,i just cut one of the supplied mounts centre slot out to give two pieces, punched a 6mm hole and just bolted it straight on like so,i ground down the little ears that are on the metal sleeve part to slip in easier,i bought a set of 4 came in two packs,im only gonna use these on the rear and keep using the fronts until they fall apart, heres the product package mark youll be able to search out the numbers etc?

That is a magnificent XT500 Mark, I bought a very low mileage 1981 model in 1985, the owner was gonna ride it around the world, so he threw in a box of new consumables (tyres, filters, cables, chain and sprockets, oil, fork seals etc etc) but fell off it on the way to work and lost his nerve. I loved it, I rode it 1000 miles to the 1985 Bathurst Motorcycle TT and my mate Pete on his Motoguzzi 850 T3 had problems keeping up. I sold it a year later when I bought my 1976 Kawasaki KZ900, and I still miss it.

They're quite collectable now, so it's cheaper to buy a later model big thumper, and at my age I think I'd like an electric start, but I keep looking at one that's been for sale locally for quite awhile, and I really have to pull my hand away from the "Buy it now" button........... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

not a bad angle, works ok considering the vibration, theres a certain phase of rpm harmonics that make the picture go all wavvy and oozy like a bad trip, above or below that rpm its watchable, itll be a bit of fun once off road.
