Yep, I had a really cool CZ 250 scramble bike back then. I bought it from a local after I watched him kick the Flood Brothers' arses at a race meeting in Bairnsdale, they were riding the latest Bultaco's, courtesy of their dad Bert Flood, and he was none too pleased when they got their bums handed to them by a local yokel, but that CZ was wicked, and those Rossi's probably saved my tootsies on more than one occasion. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Dropped off the TT350 at my sons house yesterday Dave. It needed some new intake manifolds and a new petcock when I went through it again after sitting too long. Running really good and should make him a new fun toy and get him in the dirt where we all started out. He has a Honda 919 Hornet for the road that he really likes.

those 350s are great,a mate had one,be sure the valves are shimmed correctly if its at all rattley, those intakes crack and perish on the 600s aswell on forums,i bought a cheap spare chinese set for 15 bucks as spares ready, they look and feel quite good quality for #$%* all money(compared to genuine)

Yes the right intake rubber had completely de-laminated off the steel mount which I read is pretty common on the old stockers.  I put some Chinese aftermarket on that were way too cheap. Will report back if they grenade. Petcock was Chinese also with a shorter tube which makes for less 'reserve'. Kidding with friends that the bike is slowly turning Chinese !  :D

Don't worry about it Eric, some Yamaha's are made in China, over here the Peewee 50 and 80's are very popular, and they've been made in China for years, along with some of their other budget scooters and small bikes that are sold mostly in other Asian countries. For all you know those Chinese parts might have come out of the same factory! ;D

man the stuff i find in my work as a skip truck operator,i found this neat acerbis rear fender tool pouch, was filthy with like dog hair and the stuff that blocks the S bend in toilets,it cleaned up ok so i thought id see how it might go on the yammy, glad i fiddled around with it because i found that the one already on the bike was starting to rip through at its mounts, because of that i included an extra piece of 1mm plastic board inside this one,i also made two pieces of the same board to repair the old one inside and on the outer aswell,it works well and its easy to open and close, has a few pockets aswell.

Glue some split vac hose on the edges of the plastic board inside and it will keep the edge from wearing through the fabric of the bag

still riding the yammy, man what a great old bike, get comments at gas stations etc, often spend time with later model bikes of superior calibre?untill we hit the real dirt, they haul arse on the tarmac but 260 kilo fat #$%*es aint no match for my peasant power old yammy, aint never seen em going sideways with the throttle on?the yammy is a mission on the highway though, pretty tiring rough and noisey, these guys aint even in top gear at 60 mph?lotta money for these new bikes?i dont like the high tech about them, all these guys get the shop to service etc.

I bumped into an acquaintance a couple of months ago who proudly showed me his brand new tenure.  How the hell would ya pick the big high thing up of the ground if ya fell over? He isn't a big strong fella. I wonder if you'd ride conservatively hoping to avoid it? I'd be happy enough with an old DT250.

Yep...I know a guy who thinks riding Michigan single tracks on a KTM 990 Adventure is fun.  The damn thing is like 420 lbs. and 100 hp.  Another buddy of mine regularly slaughters him in the dirt on an 1986 XR250.  Plenty of guys around with brand new $11,000  2 strokes with another $3k spent on suspension upgrades getting spanked by that XR250 as well.  We go by the 80/20 rule when it comes to going fast offroad in Michigan...80%  rider skill, 20% bike.
If it works good, it looks good...

I guess those big Adventure bikes would be well suited for the desert.

Seems like they’d be ok on hardened and graded roads but in the soft stuff they might just go in deep.

Dave,I hope you will keep it.
The nerve specialist might have a fix they recommend, possibly physical therapy or another type of therapy.
